Weird questions for applicants and Harvard students

How much do you sleep?

I know most of you are incredibly hard working students... but how are you sacrificing your rest hours in order to achieve "top-notchness" in your academics while keeping yourself involved in all your EC's? Or you don't lack of rest at all?

Thanks!

I usually get 53-56 hours of sleep a week. (Not doing it by day, because it certainly does fluctuate.) Last year it was maybe less, more like 50 hours a week, since I could function just fine on that. This year I’m still recovering from some physical trouble that means I get tired really easily, and pretty much need an average of 8h/night. Hasn’t destroyed my ecs, classes, or social life yet.

7 hours is proved to be the best… not less not more, 7 hours!

No, ideal is somewhere between 7 and 8 hours, and it depends on the person. Unfortunately, 7 hours leaves me tired and grumpy, and without alarms I will usually wake up having had 8.

I’d say on average around 7 hours per night, but with a lot of variation around that. In the past week the number of hours I’ve slept in a night has ranged from 2 to 12
