Usually i get like at most 2 or 3 wrong total on CR, but somehow i got a question like this wrong where i knew every definition.

The actor was noted for his ______ behavior: he quickly became irritated if his every whim was not immediately satisfied.

A.fastidious B.sedulous C.vindictive D.petulant E.mercenary

I immediately knew that it was fastidious due it being almost an exact definition match, but college board's answer key states that it is actually D. I understand how petulant(easily irritable) can fit in this sentence, but is it really the best match, because a fastidious person is a person who becomes easily irritated if his or her every whim is not satisfied...

I would really like someone to explain this to me (btw it is from practice test 4 BB edition 2). I have the feeling that college board made a mistake, but that's just my two cents.
