I sometimes pace the room if I have to memorize a lot of information.

I might recite stuff out loud to myself.

Chewing gum seems to help me concentrate.

I can understand your not being able to study when it's quiet. It's the same for me, I study best when there is some ambient noise. I usually just turn on some music or something.

i can't study outside. the grass makes me really itchy, the wind messes up my hair and papers, stuff falls on me, and i seem to be a bug magnet. otherwise, i like to study about 18 hours before a test, then review two hours prior, then right before i take it.

yeah
same as a few ppl, i CANNOT study if its completely quiet
it freaks me out...
i play the guitar before doing anything academic, its a warm up somehow
i always drink water and stretch before attempting to do homewore
xD

Weird study habits:
-I also need noise, but not music. Just the TV, anything will do.
-For history, I talk of the events being studied out loud, usually to one of my parents. If not, I'll do it with a friend. Debates also help.
-Actually, I have a really hard time studying. I can't do it so well at home. My best studying is when I'm sitting by my locker. For some reason I get really motivated when I'm sitting there and I do everything I normally wouldn't, from re-reading things to making "study-guides". It helped that I had an hour before school each morning last year...

i need index cards to study.

LOL I was taking a Practice ACT yesterday, and I accidentally let my thoughts wander off during the Science part... ><
It was so bad. I lost 15 minutes of the 35 daydreaming, and got a 17 on the section.

I use memory recall to but differently. I will conect what I am studying to whatever song I am listening to and then during the test I will think about the song and whatever I was studying. It works prety well. I also have to move around when I study.

I don't think my study habits are anything peculiar, but somewhat precise.

1 I CANNOT study if there is ANY noise at all. Even if in my room, and the living room television is on, I will personally get up and turn down/off the t.v. The weird part is, i need music to write essays/do anything for school on the computer, but when it comes to studying, i need absolute silence.

2 My room must be completely clean. My carpet must be vacuumed, my bed neatly done, my closet cleaned out, and my close put away.

3 I MUST take a shower before studying! I hate the feeling of a sticky face/dirty body and everyday i study, i take a shower right before. Oh, and after i take a shower i must put on my pajamas.

4 The fan must be on the second highest level (the first level blows away my papers), the window must be completely opened, and the blinds slightly slanted. If not, i get sweaty, hot, and irritated while i study.

5 I have to lay everything neatly on my bed before i start studying. my notes must be in one place, my binder in another, and my backpack the farthest away from me in the middle of the bed. Also, i must position myself precisely, with my head and back slightly tilted and my lower back touching my pillows. When reading, i have to lay down flat with my pillows on my chest/stomach area and my book touching the backboard.

haha, weird but functional.

^^^Do you plan on going away to college?

I need noise in the background in order to concentrate...no silence!

Uh, my friend shampoos her hair obsessively (uses half a bottle in a week) during final's week.

i do the SAME thing. i am studying for the SAT to. and after each section pretty much i get up and go to another area of my house. i think it just helps my mind relax

for me, it has to be absolutely quiet..i have to be confined to a small space (ie. my room with the door shut)..i can't be hungry, but i can't be super full either..if somebody interupts me in the middle of reading a paragraph, i usually have to start over..when i'm doing math, i usually talk outloud to myself..hm..i think thats about it

idk, sometimes if I read too much(after like an hour or 2) then after a while I'll just completely stop understanding what I read and it just sounds like words running through my brain. gotta have some Red Bull to snap me back into place.

ahah a good example is when I was doing AP work for US History, and there was a question on Bacon's Rebellion. And I'm like "***, when did I read about this" and then I backtrack like 5 pages and woah.

I always have to blast music while I study, however, I can't have any noise while I read for fun.

I study in bursts of 3-4 hours.
I like silence.
Sometimes I talk to myself. I will read something and try to summarize what I learned by talking about it out loud.

I like to wander around randomly for no reason every 30 minutes or so.

1.) during like sports seasons, i like to come home and totally distract myself from anything homework related...then i lstart studying after dinner(around 9:30) and fall asleep around 10:00pm on my books(it's actually quite comfortable)... around 1:30 or 2:00am I wake up am like s***, i haven't done any of my homework! haha. i finish it in like 20 minutes and then fall back asleep.
2.) I LOVE shoving food(or candy) into my mouth constantly even if i'm not hungry to keep me awake. i guess this is in a way, worse than coffee/coke.

^ Hahaha, both of those apply to me. (Except I don't have sports as an excuse. I just like to go home and not do HW until late.)

I like to stay up to 1 finishing homework, even if I could have had it done before dinner.
