<p>It depends on a lot of different things. I was told last year when I transferred in that they send the syllabi and descriptions to the various department heads who evaluate them to see if Vandy has a class that is comparable. If there is an equivalent class, they'll give you equivalent credit. If there's not, they'll give you "non-equivalent credit" which counts as elective and NOT towards AXLE, Liberal Education Core, a major, or minor. Most of my friends who transferred got almost all of their credit...I was coming from a weird situation and lost a TON of credit. If you're coming from a school on semesters you should be fine-- my old school was on quarters and I only got 2.7 hours rather than 3 for nearly all of my classes, which screwed me over. There is a process that you can use to appeal if you think you should've gotten credit, however!
