Welcome New College Rep N8Ma from the Bard College Conservatory

Please join me in welcoming our newest College Rep, N8Ma from the Bard College Conservatory!

(As a reminder, we have taken reasonable steps to verify that our College Rep members are indeed who they claim to be. If you encounter anyone in the community who claims to be from a college’s admissions office but isn’t designated as a College Rep, please let us know and be wary of any advice provided before that person is so designated. Naturally, for important decisions you should rely on official communications from the college in question, not forum posts.)

Stop in and say hello in this thread, but please do NOT use this thread to ask questions - start a new thread with an appropriate title. In addition, since our College Reps are busy people, please do NOT start threads asking for help specifically from the Rep - please post the query to the community in general, and you’ll be likely to get multiple informed views on the subject. If the College Rep can provide useful input, no doubt he/she will chime in.

Welcome, N8Ma. I haven't had a chance to visit the new Bard College Conservatory yet (well, it still feels "new" to me) but I'm planning to get there in the fall.

Hi Sally,

Well, until we actually graduate a class of students, I think we qualify as "new."

That makes me feel better. At my age, anything that's happened in the music world since the Beatles broke up still feels new. :)

We appreciate having you on this forum. Thanks for joining.

Hello, N8Ma. Welcome to College Confidential. I notice that Peter Serkin is on your piano faculty. I consider him to be among the great pianists of the modern era. I'll watch your site for announcements about his upcoming performances.

Nice to see someone from Bard on CC other than us long-suffering parents!

I've had no contact with the Conservatory faculty but I can tell you my daughter is totally enamored with her undergrad voice professors in the college, and she's not even a music major! Of course the Conservatory program in vocal performance is only grad-level. Maybe she'll be knocking on Dawn's door in two years.

Great school. Let's keep it our little secret. ;)

Hi, I'm glad you joined. Love the school, keep up whatever it is you do to make it so amazing.
