Please join me in welcoming CollegeMom, who will be moderating the Parents Forum. Welcome, CollegeMom!

Bonjour! Welcome

How does one become a mod?

Thanks for coming on board as a moderator. Be sure to let us know how we can keep the discussions interesting and welcoming for everyone.

Welcome Collegemom.

Thanks everyone who posted on this thread and hello to everyone else reading the Parent Forum. I am delighted to be the moderator here.

I am a parent of both college and high school aged students and have read the College Confidential forums for a long while. I find this website, and the forums in particular, to be one of the best resources for information regarding the college search and admissions process. As well, the connections between people and the sharing of common experiences adds greatly to the wealth of information and help and support for those going through this process.

The Parent Forum is comprised of some of the most intelligent, knowledgeable, and thoughtful posters. The parents here are supportive of one another and willing to offer help and to share their experiences. It is great to see a regular group of people participating over time but we welcome new posters and hope they will join right in with the discussion, as well as start threads of interest or ask for help.

I have always felt that one of the reasons that the CC Forums are as terrific as they are has been due to the fact that they are moderated. For the most part, the discussions are polite and respectful and the forums give a sense of safety when we can rely on that type of standard, that is not always the case on other internet message boards. I look forward to keeping that standard up so that this forum remains to be as wonderful as it has always been for parents of kids at various stages of this process.

While I will be keeping the forum up to the standards you expect by checking on posts, I am also here to be of help to those who want to ask questions of me or to guide discussions or take suggestions of how the forum can work best for our participants.

See you online!
