First, no apologies needed from those who ‘doubted’ we represented UC Berkeley in prior posts. That was healthy skepticism, because we could have been anyone. Although we’ve occasionally read thru some CC threads for years for ideas on how our web content might be improved, this was the first time we felt we needed to step in to dispel rumors quickly, but we were unaware that the “College Rep” cagetory existed until some of you mentioned it. That’s when we contacted CC to become official.

Now let’s set the record straight. We represent the myBerkeleyApp WEBSITE for UC Berkeley, which is for undergrad applicants, admitted students, and primarily for students who have said “Yes, I’m coming”. The purpose of the site is to point you to correct information and help you focus on what’s important in the information overload you experience when you are admitted, and to keep track of the status of all the different forms you need to fill out and steps you need to take if you decide to come. Therefore, we are NOT experts in admissions, financial aid, housing, etc. – we simply try to direct you to the experts via our site.
