Welcome to College!

oh yeah he posted it in another thread

horay for pyramid schemes!!

In college you can... go to a party, go out to eat, go play fridbee, make some friends, work out, learn an instrument, meet guys or girls (your pref), play a prank, play video games, go to town (if your college is in one).... I'm sure there is so much more but I am lazy.... also I'm not even in college yet, though I do live in a college town.

Have fun :)

Taking it easy is OK, just realize that no one is going to check to see if you are doing any homework, they expect that either are doing it or don't need to. Also don't expect much if any kind of a review prior to your first test. When I was a freshman I pretty much blew off homework the first 6 weeks and then came midterms and I was dead meat. It was not pretty.
Each person has to figure out for him or herself how much you need to study for different classes. Some seem to take a huge amount of work and other ones you can completely blow off until test time. It all depends on you and the class.

The work load is not too bad, but I really don't have much time for anything other than HW and clubs. The only bad thing is taking 8 am classes. I just woke up from a 7 hour nap since I stayed up pretty late last night on homework.

Heh. I can't say I've had much of a tough time, I'm taking 16 credits, calc 2, chem, physics, philosophy, and psych, and its so much easier and less work so far than high school was. I'm loving the lightened workload.

I haven't had problems adjusting to the workload, because college is nothing but free time (or so it seems)

Just wait till mid-terms/finals roll around...

Who would feel like studying that much a few weeks in advance anyway?

"Just wait till mid-terms/finals roll around..."

You say that like I'm not studying and keeping up with the material. I assure you, none of my work is being blown off. It's just THAT much easier than IB ever was.

The one thing that I know I'm going to hate is the fact that for Math and Chem, almost all the homework is done online and graded by computer.

But I'm already loving my honors seminar...it's a discussion class on novels--and people actually eagerly participate! I love it!

don't worry abc it picks up rather quickly after the first few classes. If you're in a school that is know for the departments your classes are in, it gets pretty ridiculous.

I hope it picks up. I actually don't like not being challenged. The work load I could do without, but I'd deal with it :P
