how's welcome week gonna be like? i've heard great things about it. any great activities? parties,or whatever?

Look it up on the ONSP site to see a list of all the activities held during Welcome Week. They say its like no other week in the year:)

Welcome week is OVERWHELMING but awesome! Whatever you guys do, make sure you do not miss a single day of studying. Making up a week's worth of studies in college is next to impossible!

Alexandre, their doing welcome week the week before classes start. Not sure if this is when they normally do it, but it's what the M-Planner says this year. The only things they're doing after classes start are a few little things like Festifall, Study Abroad Fair, etc that are not officially part of "Welcome week".

Welcome week is by far the most amazing week of the year. I am saddened that I will miss it this year. Parties every night. You can spot the incoming freshman by the size of the awkward packs that they travel in.

It's a week long party. Don't get MIPed.

I believe that campus tradition started in the early/mid 90's. I've heard about it...sounds like a blast! I remember when I started school as a freshman, bored and lonely!! :(

I wish I could tell you what welcome week was like, but I honestly don't remember much. The entire week was really hazy. I guess it wasn't just welcome week, but the entire first month of school.

Zuzu, trust me, "Welcome Week" has a habit of becoming "Welcome Month" for some. That is what I am cautioning about. Once classes start, I recommend students keep up with their workload and reading on a daily basis. There is plenty of time to party...all I am saying is that students should remember that they have 4 years to do it, so pace yourselves!

Let me back up what Alexandre is saying with a friendly warning to my friends who are incoming...OCTOBER WILL KICK YOUR ASS.

See this is what happens...September is basically sweet. There are parties seemingly every night, you don't have a lot due in your classes...you see where that is going. Then...all the sudden Oct 1 hits you like a sack of rocks in the face. Now you've got 3 papers and 2 midterms due in one week. Now there's no other way to say this; that would be what we call ****ED. Woe is the student who didn't keep up in September!

That being said...DO go out, because there is really no other time party-wise during the school year. There would be the same sort of thing at the beginning of winter term, except for that whole sub-zero thing. I look forward to seeing y'all out...just please do be responsible about your studies!

+1. i almost thought about transferring to another school after the first 3 weeks cuz i thought the education was just too easy and i wasn't getting my money's worth. first round of exams proved otherwise.

Definitely don't let it become Welcome month. The first two weeks or so of school are fine, but definitely tone it down a week or so before the first midterms hit. I didn't do too bad, only my econ grade suffered, which is pretty sweet for the time I had at the beginning of the year.

kb...if I see you at a party I'll introduce myself. A friend of mine went to high school with you and I've been able to put the pieces together.
