Hi, just wondering if anyone knows what US school's are most welcoming to Canadians. When I say welcoming, I mean most generous with scholarships and financial aid. I would consider going to the US, but only if it doesn't cost me more than double what it would cost me to attend a Canadian School. Thanks for your help!

Except for the Ivies and a handful of other elite schools, US universities do not give need based aid to internationals. Many US universities do give merit aid to international students however. What are your stats? Especially your ACT or SAT scores. Then we can chance you for admission/merit aid.

Hi tomofboston. Sorry for the late reply, but I don’t want my exact score published, I am in the low 2200s. I have a low 90s high school average. Are admissions decisions and financial aid separate processes? Is it possible I get into a lot of great schoos, but they won’t provide any funding?

Your stats likely would not qualify you for need based aid at the schools that award it to internationals, except possibly Cornell. You may qualify for goof merit aid at mid tier schools like Boston University.

Thank you for clarifying my position/opportunities in life/society based on my academic statistics.

You get automatic full tuition, Honors College, and Honors Dorm at UAlabama (a good Honors College). You’d have to pay roughly $15,000 for room, board, books, transportation, and miscellaneous.
