I've been to the Welcome Day programs at both USC and UCLA, and I've made my decision that I'm going to UCLA. It was my #1 choice for about 10 years, and I pretty much went to USC to make sure that I was doing the right thing my choosing UCLA. I was impressed by USC, but as soon as I stepped onto the UCLA campus this morning I remembered why it had always been my dream school! Everything just seems so right and it is such a great fit for me. I was so excited that I took the 20% off coupon that they gave us and I went down to UCLA store to load up on stuff. I got myself a sweatshirt, a couple t shirts, a sticker for the car, and some stuff to bring back to my family in Maryland (I'm from Orange County but we moved to Maryland in July 2000). I was actually supposed to go down for UCSD's program on Saturday, but after today there is no way that I would choose that, or any school, over UCLA. I'm going to turn in the SIR as soon as I can. Just thought I would share my excitement with everyone. I'm going back home to Southern California!

Welcome back! :)

Congrats!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Awesome! Congrats!

congrats! How much will u be paying?

Welcome aboard.

awww man! they gave a discount coupon? i actually went for a campus tour the day admissions came out (we had no idea the decisions would come out a week early). my dad and i went over to the student center to hijack a computer and i found that i got in... we were jumping up and down and everything. blew a ton of cash at the student store too... should've waited for that discount!

That's great!! See you at LA! =D Have you picked out your dorms yet?

yeahh! who needs berkeley? i sure don't!

Congrats...I'm sure you'll love UCLA! I guess I'll be seeing you at rival games.

Congratulations! Great decision.

I'll be paying out of state tuiton, but my family will be able to afford it. It's expensive, but it is the school that I really want to go to so my family has given me full support.

After going on the the tours for both residential hall and plaza living situations (I saw Reiber and De Neve Acacia), I'll probably put down plaza as my first chioce, simply because they feel newer and I wouldn't have to share a bathroom with so many people. But honestly I would be happy in either.

Just sent in my SIR! :)

Congrats. I wish I had such an easy desicion.. wait no actually I like having choices but you know what I mean.

UCLA has a beautiful campus...but USC's is better. :D

De Neve plaza? I'm gonna dorm there, too =] Hoping that I can convince some of my friends to stay there...

actually i think the UCLA campus is way better that the USC campus. I think UCLA looks awesome (except for the construction) and has a more secure and open feel to it. Unfortunately, UCLA is relatively weak in its Communications, a field in which i'm planning on studying. The USC people also seem more mature and outgoing than some of those nerdy bruins.

What exactly makes dragon17 think the USC campus is better than the UCLA campus? The wrought-iron fences and checkpoints stationed around its perimeter?

LoL you guys are funny. Even though USC is beautiful with all the fountains, it doesn't exactly have that 'college feel' to it. Since UCLA is in the middle of a busy city and USC... isn't... It feels like USC is more like a small suburban area. Nice and cozy, but doesn't seem like it would give me the college experience that UCLA can.
