NPC is the net price calculator. I would guess that they are asking if you checked to see if the school appears to be affordable.

I don’t work for Wellesley admissions, but I think they want to be sure that applicants considered the cost involved in attending the college. Why? Your guess is as good as anyone’s. My personal guess is that want the question to serve as a reminder to applicants that price should not be ignored and that the NPC should be run to estimate affordability. Every year there are some people who go through the application process totally ignoring price and then end up with no affordable options.
I’m amazed every year at applicants who at acceptance time seem surprised that Wellesley does NOT offer any merit aid.
Running the NPC ahead of time would give applicants an estimate of cost and need-based aid.
