baaah i really wanna go to Wellesley, and I'm going to apply early descision.
What are my chances?

You need to visit Wellesley in person and let them know of your interest. Applying ED to Wellesley is not enough. Your stats are on the low side, therefore teacher recs will be heavily weighted. Remember-- when you visit Wellesley, it is a two way street.

thanks icy9ff8. I'm also looking at Bryn Mawr, Smith, and Vassar. Any chances there?

You have a good chance at all of these highly selective schools. Wellesley, Bryn Mawr and Smith offer great cross registration options. Wellesley students take courses at MIT and, I believe, Harvard. Bryn Mawr at Haverford and, to a lesser extent, at Swarthmore. Smith belongs to a 7 college consortium. Vasser seems to be seeking males and is more isolated than the others. Wellesley is harder to predict regarding admissions than for the other schools. These are all top notch colleges. Bryn Mawr is the most centrist, while the others are quite liberal. Smith is rumored to be the most feminist- but I really don't know. The typical Vasser student might be uncomfortable at Bryn Mawr and vice versa. Elite graduate schools love Wellesley graduates.

bump. anybody else? please?
