@Jujuamada Basically the lifelong friendship
Hi, I’m an international student from Cabo Verde (Africa) and I really love Wellesley, it’s my first choice. I’ve been waitlisted and I saw that your essays have a big impact on your admission. So can somebody please tell me if my essays are good, like if I was able to tell them more about “me” then “Wellesley”? Thanks!
Did u submit an additional recommendation or essay as to why u should be admitted off the waitlist?
has anyone gotten any news about the waitlist?
@harrietdasilva No, our school year runs from January to December so I already had all my marks before I submitted my application.
My common app essay was also about fighting for social justice ( but in a South African context).
Just out of curiosity, where have you guys committed to for now (hopefully one of us gets off the waitlist)? I placed my deposit at Davidson.
@nobukos nothing yet abt the waitlist
https://chat.■■■■■■■■■■■■/G6pgm8PQGGj83xG6ekmmmB I just created a WhatsApp group for waitlisted students at Wellesley. It’s easier to talk there
Just so y’all know, my financial aid checklist disappeared lately…nothing on my portal anymore…it just shows a checklist of all my submitted documents.
Anyone else?
harrietdasilva I sent a letter of continued interest like Wellesley advised when they notified me about being waitlisted
harrietdasilva yeah me too, I just saw my checklist
Has anybody seen any tips on how we might be able to get off the waitlist?
harrietdasilva thanks for the consideration but I don’t have whatsapp
Alryt… @Jujuamada what country are u from?
The only tip rn on getting admitted off the waitlist is by submitting a letter of continued interest/ additional recommendation, and waiting.
I’m from Cabo Verde (Africa) harrietdasilva
@Jujuamada Alryt… Let’s keep our fingers crossed
Bit of advice - what you’ve written here says absolutely nothing about things that are UNIQUE to Wellesley - you’ve written generic bits about what you want but nothing about how only Wellesley is uniquely suited to help you achieve this and nothing at all about what unique and important things you can bring to the Wellesley community. Also, don’t refer to the students at Wellesley as girls. The Wellesley community is a a selective one of gifted, ambitious and accomplished women. It’s NOT a girls’ school. Good luck. (wellesley '87)
