Wellesley College Class of 2015- Early Decision

Eco~I chose

I plan to major in chemistry.

So I had Chinese food last night and guess what my fortune cookie said: “you will receive good news from far away”. !!! I live near Chicago, so Wellesley is definitely far away. Hahah I really hope this fortune cookie doesn’t lie!

Do any one know that is the number of applicants applied for Wellesley ED this year greater or smaller than that of last year?

And what about the acceptance rate?

@2015class
HAHA, fortune cookie!!!
It’s funny how I have never seen a fortune cookie in China before xD

AHHHHHH GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!!! 5 days 6 hours and 43 minutes!!

My daughter plans to major in neuroscience and minor in music.

To reiterate Uliy711’s question, does anyone know how many ED applicants there were this year?

@Marama,

Yeah I wouldn’t worry about the Wellesley revoking your daughter’s acceptance if her GPA just slightly falls. My teacher showed the class a letter from Cornell to one of his students who got accepted to the University, and it said that if he doesn’t bring up his grades (it was getting so bad, he went from like A’s to C’s), they’re going to withdraw their acceptance because so many other students want his spot and he’s not working hard enough for it. So they’ll send a warning letter first. Don’t worry. Why isn’t your daughter on CC?? GET HER ON!!!

and I’m planning to send in a recording of my piano skills (classical pieces) :wink: if I get deffered… hopefully not. I’m also considering majoring in Pre-med! I still keep changing my mind though…

I’m from the Middle East! Saudi Arabia to be specific, but I live in New Jersey.

HAHHAHAAHHA the fortune cookie! HAHAHAH I think I’m going to get one too…

I don’t know about how many ED applicants there are this year… but the rate is usually 50%

arfkjgaklughalsgasf;dghjasdfl;kj Friday is so close OMG!!! ;( :0 :slight_smile: :smiley: :frowning: :S :blush: T.T 0.0

GranolaBar18: I can’t get my daughter to get on CC, but I do tell her what everyone is saying, which she seems to enjoy (as long as I don’t tell her too many things too often). She is really nervous about getting accepted and hates to be reminded. Maybe she’ll get on CC once accepted.

I’m not saying her GPA has gone down! I was just joking about that because her nerves about Wellesley are making it harder for her to concentrate on her schoolwork. I expect that IF ACCEPTED, she’ll go back to working just as well as before. IF NOT ACCEPTED…that’s too depressing a scenario for me to consider. If she isn’t accepted, I’m afraid she’ll feel really bummed out, which COULD affect her grades.

How come you didn’t send in a piano CD with your ED application? And how long have you been in the States? (My daughter is also from overseas.)

I think it’s so interesting that many of us are from other countries or has lived overseas for long periods of time, this makes me really excited and more eager to be accepted to Wellesley! Such global environment seems so wonderful to be a part of :slight_smile:

5 days 3 hours 15 minutes >.<

just wanted to say i am also applied ED and am planning on playing volleyball if i am accepted. My parents and i have been going crazy! I am so excited to go away next year, and wellesley is the only place i want to be.

anyone else planning on playing volleyball?

Marama,

I know what you meant. I was just saying that they’ll send a warning letter before they revoke the acceptance.
I didn’t send in my CD because… I procrastinated by not playing consistently :S I don’t regret it though cz I had SO many things to do. I had no time… so I wasn’t ready to record. Now I am. I’m recording next week hopefully…but it’s too late to send the CD for ED isn’t it?..:frowning: oh well
I don’t really like talking about my personal life, but I kept moving back and forth from my country and the US. In total though, I lived here for 4 years, this year is my fifth. Where are you and your daughter from?

Sinfused,

Yeah, tell me about it. I think Wellesley College pull in a lot of international students… like 20% of the accepted applicants are from out of the country! :slight_smile:

Callan,

HI! We’re all going crazy here! except for my mom…-_- she tells me that I’m not going to get in. :frowning: Anyway, I’m planning on playing softball and golf if I can manage to do both… I SUCK at volleyball sorry!

4days 21 hours 19mins!!

I used to play tennis…except my right shoulder’s kinda ruined from serving so I can’t do varsity anymore~~ sniff
but I’m planning to play club sports like Ultimate Frisbee and dorm crew, if I’m good enough, I might try out for varsity crew :)

GranolaBar18:

–Spain.

–Why doesn’t your mother think you’ll get in (or should I not ask)?

–I know what you mean about finding the time to get your recording done. It was very hard for my daughter to set up hers. She finally did it the third week of October.

Granolabar-
Why would your mom say that? My parents keep telling me not to worry, but its hard when you have done all that you can and it is now out of your hands :frowning: but im having trouble getting my work done because all i can think about is wellesley!
And your countdown makes it seem like its so close!

Have any of you gone to visit in the fall? I went over the summer and everyone told me it was stunning in the fall, but i didint want to take another trip out there (im from michigan) until i knew for sure i got in :(

My daughter and I also visited this summer, but never in the fall.

Why does your mom tell you that you won’t be accepted?
Is your mom not satisfied with your grades and test scores or something of the sort?
My mom keeps reminding me that it’s fine even if I don’t get in. She just told me to try my best at whatever college I end up going to.
:smiley:
I’m sure you’ll get good news.

@GranolaBar18
Why does your mom say that?
I’m sure everyone has a chance of getting accepted!

@evelyn5356
My mom tells me the same thing. Even though I know that she really wants me to get into Wellesley or some Ivy league (Asian parents haha)

4 days 10 hours 16 minutes!

is anyone else an anticipatory media arts & sciences major?

@Eunoia
Nope. I wanna do either Econ, Art History, or Chinese.

Does anyone here have so many things they want to do at Wellesley that you don’t think you’ll be able to do all of them? There are so many classes I want to take! And even in sports, I want to continue ballet but try another form of dance. I want to take a self defense class, a rock climbing and I want to join the Quidditch team and those are just the extracurricular physical activities I want to do! I love how Wellesley has all these options!

@cayyliee,
totally get what you meant. I want to join so many clubs and take so many classes too. There’s just not enough time in a day ><
and too bad we can only have so many credits before we are forced to graduate lol the course catalog is awesome!!
and yeah I would love to rock climb and play Quidditch too :slight_smile: !!oh and maybe take sailing classes!!

4 more days!
