I must read the course catalog three times a day, which is not good because I’ve picked out some of the classes I want to take and if I don’t get in it will make it THAT much more horrible. I am so nervous! 4 more days, we’ve almost made it ladies!

Hey everyone!

As we are getting closer to the 10th, I’m actually getting a little less nervous. Maybe it’s my unconscious mind telling me that I’m not going to get in so don’t even bother getting nervous over it.=(

Aww, don’t worry, Valere! I’m super nervous myself, but speculating will do absolutely nothing right now. You’ll either be right or wrong, so don’t invest too much in anxiety.

Of course, that’s much easier said than done. I’ve bitten my nails down to stubs again… I’m scared that this is my last week of relative happiness.

chaoslover

I feel that way too. I’m kind of hoping that Friday won’t come so soon because I can at least hope and dream that I got in. By Friday, we’ll all know for sure, which can be either really awesome or really terrible.

96 hours and 30 minutes!!!

Marama,
Spain!!
you must be happy about the world cup hehehe
#6 is your hero. ;)

Callan,
I know what you mean about not getting stuff done cz you keep thinking about Wellesley constantly! I do the same trust me.

My mom thinks that I won’t get in cz she thinks that EVERYONE who gets accepted to Wellesley College scored at least a 2100 on their SAT’s… My score is between 2000 and 2100… She also thinks that they’re going to reject me because I didn’t send in the CD… -_- It might also have to do with the fact that my brother, who was always the best in like everything, got rejected from Johns Hopkins when we all thought that he was going to get in for sure. So maybe she just doesn’t want to feel that disappointment or devastation if I do get declined. However, I still have a little faith in myself. :)

I want to do EVERYTHING at Wellesley :D!

3 Days 23 Hours 21 Minutes!!! OMG

GranolaBar18,
I think we have similar concerns haha…My SAT score is also in that range and my junior year was a little disappointing
But I’m hoping Wellesley would see (or saw, rather) the strengths in other parts of my application~

There’s never a sure thing when it comes to colleges accepting students~ Let’s just hope for the best!!

I think Wellesley looks, not just at your scores and grades, but at who you are and what you have to offer. What you’ve done, your interests etc. Even if you had a rocky year and slightly below average SAT scores, I think you’ll still have a good chance of getting in if you prove hard-working and determined, not to say scores and grades aren’t important, I feel Wellesley looks at you as a person and not a number.

4 DAYS!!! who else is freaking out? haha.

good luck to you all!

I’m looking at my countdown: 3.85 days or 92.35 hours or 5540 seconds.

Ladies, we are ALMOST there!!!

Part of me is nervous, the other part hasn’t even registered the fact that a part of my future may be sealed in this short time span.

Some of us have already been decided on… That manages to still excite/freak me out!!

I’M SO SCARED!!
Do you all know when Wellesley stops the ED decision process?

3 Days 15 Hours 30 Minutes!

They probably already finished deciding but are organizing the information to log into the Portal D:
I don’t know…This is so scary…

3 days 12 hours and 9 minutes!!

I cant even focus on studying for my final exams which are in two days. )):
how do we even find out the decision on the portal. D:

I hate waiting.
3 Days 8 Hours 39 Minutes!

GranolaBar18: Yes, WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS!!!

Bonni1993: My understanding is that the Admissions Office will provide applicants with a link to the offical decision page either via e-mail, through the My Wellesley portal, or both.

Your difficulty concentrating is understandable. The tension in our house is unrelenting. My daughter listens to the Wellesley choral recordings online and looks at the Neuroscience major requirements and research opportunities and just bursts with the yearning to become a part of it all. Meanwhile, I’m extremely hopeful that she will be accepted, but terrified of the financial aid decision. For some families, a thousand more or a thousand less is nothing but, for us, it is.

To everyone in this forum:

1) On the My Wellesley portal, under the heading “Overall Financial Aid Status” which appears at the bottom of the financial aid page, do you have a sentence saying “Based on your status as an incoming student…?”

2) If you identified yourself on the Common App as belonging to an underrepresented minority group, do have something saying “Verify Ethnic/Racial Information?”

3) Is the total cost of attendance listed and broken down into categories for you? If so, does the section about travel expenses reflect the real cost for you to go to and from Wellesley two or three times a year, or is it only enough for one trip?

P.S. to GranolaBar18: I believe that Wellesley will cut an applicant some slack EITHER in test scores OR in GPA as long as the rest of her application is appealing.

In the case of my daughter’s school, accepted applicants from previous years had quite high GPA’s but mediocre SAT’s and ACT’s.

As for my daughter, her test scores are the stronger of the two. I doubt this will keep her out of Wellesley, however. I suspect her personal statement, recommendations, extracurriculars and awards will carry a lot of weight.

Yes, I’ll just keep thinking about the positive things in my application.

3 days 1 hour 6 minutes! 0_0

marama,

Where did you find “Overall financial aid status”? All I see is financial aid notification, checklist and question. I also didn’t see the minority group or the cost of attendance broken down.

Valere, you have to click the FA checklist first, and at the very bottom of the page, in small fonts, it’ll say “overall financial aid status” in which you can click in and see

Thanks SinFused!

I’m guessing imcoming student is their way of saying this year’s applicants? My transportation fees allows me to make about 2 - 3 trips.

valere,

Two to three one-way trips or two to three round-trips? The transportation allowance listed on my daughter’s portal would only allow her to go to Wellesley in the fall and then come back home for the summer…

I can’t imagine not seeing her for a whole school year!!!
