Wellesley College Class of 2015- Early Decision

@SinFused

All it says under “overall status of financial aid 2011-2012” is: “You have unsatisfied student requirements for this aid year. Select Another Aid Year”. I’m sure I am on the right page…

Oh well, I will keep my hopes up and wait until Friday!

yeah, don’t worry too much, there are probably some glitches with the website (which happens all the time with college sites).
Good Luck to all of us!! We’re almost there!!! :)

Here is my D’s breakdown
Budget Detail Budget Component Amount
Fees $246.00
Personal Expenses $2,050.00
Room and Board $12,284.00
Transportation Expenses $1,150.00
Tuition $39,420.00
Total: $55,150.00

We live in CA (Bay Area near San Francisco)

hmm can anyone else who received a breakdown of costs post it here like @beaniey did?
if there are different costs, then that’s gotta mean…something right?

yeah my travel expenses amount is different (Florida)

Fees $246.00
Personal Expenses $2,050.00
Room and Board $12,284.00
Transportation Expenses $650.00
Tuition $39,420.00
Total: $54,650.00

I really hope this means something…but then I dont want to get too hopeful~
they make the decision first AND THEN send the info FA office right? so…hmmm

I don’t think that’s the case.
I think all this means is that the financial aid people haven’t gotten to your application yet. In my case, I’m missing two requirements.

Evelyn5356 may well be right. There are still two days left before the final decisions come out. I’ll bet the financial aid people are working really hard to finalize everything. It must be a huge task to do the numbers for so many people.

Evelyn5356: Have you e-mailed them yet about the missing requirements? If I were you, I definitely would (not that you asked my opinion)! : )

Hi everyone! I decided to make an account after lurking ya’ll for the past few days  A bit late, I know.

Hmm I didn’t receive any of that financial information, but like evelyn5356 said, the financial aid people probably haven’t finished yet…though the time is really ticking. But why would they give you travel expenses if you weren’t accepted? Do any of you who received that breakdown remember when you got it?

@marama
Yes! I didn’t think much of it, but after I saw that everyone was so worried about it, I e-mailed the financial aid office just 10 minutes ago. I will comment again when I get a response. But I don’t think that they would just do that kind of thing though. They wouldn’t want to be giving anyone hints. That would be very unprofessional of them.

snowwball:

It showed up on my daughter’s portal on Friday afternoon Pacific Standard Time, if I remember correctly.

hmmm that could be true evelyn5356~ it would be very unprofessional to slip out hints like that.

I’m just so nervous right now…I can’t wait anymore!!

Just for the record, may the Wellesley Admissions and Financial Aid Office know that no one here thinks they’re unprofessional!! We all think they’re wonderful, and our children are all dying to go to their school!!!

Oh, and snowwball…I don’t think anyone has “received” (i.e. been sent) any information. Rather, some of us have come upon this while looking around the My Wellesley portal.

lol
second that!!
WE ARE LITERALLY DYING TO GO TO WELLESLEY~~~

I can certify that my daughter is definitely “dying” to go to Wellesley…

the wait is killing her!!!

Thanks evelyn5356 for contacting them! And thanks marama for that specific date.

I try to keep myself occupied so that I won’t be a worrywart all the time. I made most of this week’s after-school plans so that I’m always doing something fun. I can’t fix the daydreaming or moments of nervousness I get in class though, haha.
& yes, Wellesley…
we. are. dying.

Too bad my daughter has so blooming much work to do for school, because I know she would love to go out and have fun after school. I envy you your leisure time, snowwball!

By the way, how did your English final go, bonni1993?

No problem. It sucks that we have homework on top of all this waiting, but we’re almost there.
Less than two days I believe. I’m just going to be content that I get one burden off my back whether I get rejected or accepted.
I’ve been recommended to this site where people tell you what chance you have of getting into colleges of your choice

mychances . net

After I put in my information, the computer estimated my chances of getting accepted to be 18.3%
After this, my mom was sure that I didn’t get in.
But a user from last year that applied ED was told that her chance was 10.6% and she was still accepted. So the computer is not accurate, but the people on the forum can chance you if you request. It’s actually a pretty useful site! Check it out!

Personally, I think the best ways to gauge your chances of acceptance are 1) by going to your school’s Naviance page (if your school is a Naviance subscriber) and 2) by looking at the applicant stats that are posted on CC for each college. Click on each applicant’s sign-in name to get more info on his/her school, extracurriculars, awards and “hooks.”

I just watched the Ivy League documentary because my friend recommended it… And seeing the anticipation/nervousness of the 4 students waiting for their decisions spiked up my stress levels just an itty bitty bit!

So soon… Less than 48 hours!!! We are ALMOST there!
