Wellesley College Leadership

Hello,
Wellesley says that it fosters in women strong real-life leadership. I know that they do by looking at its alumni network, but I’m not quite sure how they foster leadership in students. Are there special programs that are specifically directed to leadership or is it just the Wellesley’s social and academic experience?

Thanks

Btw I’m interested in economics, business and international affairs. It’d be great if I could get some information specifically to this field. A general one is fine too

Look at their Academic Institutes: http://www.wellesley.edu/academics/institutes

Check out their Center for Work and Service: http://www.wellesley.edu/cws

They also have Conferences that foster leadership skills:

Blueprint for Leadership program: https://www.wellesley.edu/studentlife/campus/involvement/blueprint-for-leadership

Leadership stories: http://www.wellesley.edu/about/wellesleyeffect/leadershipstories

If you’re not a leader in some capacity by the time you graduate from Wellesley, you’re sure used to being led.

Thank you very much!

http://web.wellesley.edu/Albright/index2.html I posted this on your other thread but thought if others only see one, they should know about this too.

I think also–besides the very helpful links @Dunboyne posted–that Wellesley means that they are encouraging women in their endeavors, thus giving women the confidence to succeed in the real world. So it’s both the specially designed programs AND the overall experience there.

I was part of the Blueprint for Leadership spring 2015 cohort, and I found it very helpful. You have to apply to get in, but the process is by no means super selective or anything (they just make it seem that way to maybe boost your ego?). They invite speakers and such, and there are leadership building activities. I also made friends from the bonding activities!
