Why you think you were accepted/deferred/rejected: i honestly don’t know why I was rejected. COULD YOU GUYS OFFER YOUR COMMENTS?
General Comments: this is wellesley’s reason for rejection… “Admission to Wellesley will be especially competitive this year, given the large and very talented applicant pool. As many well prepared, talented, and hard-working applicants present strong records of achievement, admission to Wellesley is highly selective, and it will not be possible for us to offer admission to all students who could be successful here.”
Quantitatively, your stats indicate that you would be a competitive candidate. So the question is why a “rejection” instead of at least a “possible”?
The answer is probably in your essays and/or interview. Wellesley searches for students who would thrive and succeed in their unique environment. The admissions committee rejects many, many very high-performing applicants when it is not clear that Wellesley would be a good fit for the student.
The good news is that there are lots of great colleges and students tend to fall in love with the one they eventually select. By this time next year, you will likely have forgotten about Wellesley.
Good luck!
