Wellesley ED II

yes! i am applying from canada.

Im applying from the UK!

Iā€™m applying ED2 and now I wish I applied ED1 because Iā€™m so impatient for my decision!! good luck everyone. Anyone know when late february is exactlyā€¦? I know ED1 was released on December 8 and they applied November 1. Anyone think we could hear as early as February 8?

I believe late February would be around the 18th at the earliest. I think they will give us an exact date in early or mid-February.

Has the application process been difficult?

compared to canadian university applications, absolutely yes. applying to wellesley in particular was not that difficult because the supplement was relatively easy (especially if you really love the school). applying to american schools has been difficult because i had to do multiple standardized tests, essays, extracurriculars, etc all within a matter of a few months. i really really recommend to start early with the application process, even more so if you are international. i really hope i get into wellesley ed 2 so i can relax the rest of the school year LOL.

in the UK we have UCAS, which is like the common app, but it only wants academics, not any mention of personal development, growth, or extracurriculars. you can mention these in your personal statement, but that too has to be mainly academic.
iā€™d had my heart set on Wellesley for years and years, and its the only place Iā€™ve applied to in the US, so if it doesnā€™t work out it will just be a nice experience i had!
i do hope that if some of us from this board get in we can say in touch beforehand, moving countries does seem like such a big move!

good luck to both of you!! @simplyleepy @beepboop344 Iā€™m extremely impressed that you guys are looking to move so far from home. I wish I had that courage. Hopefully we all get in!

Another international here. I am from Bangladesh

I hope we can all get in! I think thereā€™s a seminar for first year international students, so hopefully moving so far away wonā€™t be too bad.

@Anushkei (I have a lot of friends from Bangladesh; thereā€™s a fairly large community at my school) Same question to you: has applying been hard?

Hey! I am from India though I applied RD as there were some financial aid complications so couldnā€™t apply EDIIā€¦

@KoliInd99 I wish you luck during the RD round! Is Wellesley the only school you applied to in the US?

@jubilant56 Thanks! Actually I applied to about 10 schools in total in the USā€¦

@simplyleepy Hey Iā€™m a UK student as well! Applied RD though

ahh thats so cool, no one i know has even heard of Wellesley!
have you applied somewhere else ED?
when do you find out about RD? the wait for ED is excruciating?
Good luck!

just went back to the portal to double-triple check everything was fine, because iā€™m a major worrier, and theres nothing there, which only reminded me how soon the decisions will be released!! iā€™m so excited!!!

nice to meet you guys!! if any of us get in it will be great to get in touch with each other through here. also, just wondering (since we are internationals) what are your guysā€™ credentials (scores, grades, extracurriculars etc)? only if you guys want to share. this is just because i heard people say that as an international you need to have exceedingly better credentials than American applicants in order to be considered. thanks!

@KoliInd99 Sweet. Thatā€™s a lot, though. Are most of them in the Northeast or did you apply all over the US?
@simplyleepy I check the portal everyday too ^^ I should probably stop.

@beepboop344 Once students are accepted to Wellesley, theyā€™ll be added to the Class of 2021 Facebook group to start meeting each other. The ED I accepts have been chatting for a while are are ready to welcome some more classmates! Good luck!

@jubilant56 I covered only the Northeast. Thought about applying to California colleges but the financial aid is not available and couldnā€™t research another territory.
