@beepboop344 No matter what, I’ll be posting my stats tomorrow. (If you really, really wanna know now, you can go to my profile and check my previous Chance Me threads. I…don’t think my chances are that good. If I am let in, I have a few ideas why, which I’ll also elaborate on tomorrow evening.)
@Amaaandafu God, I hope we all end up at nice schools.
@taianweston Pretty sure I’m the only one applying. The last student from my school to attend Wellesley was around 2013. I’m in the south, so the seven sisters aren’t that popular.
@Pianogirl1235 Take it with a grain of salt, but I visited admissions during the fall. One of the officers estimated that EDII would have around a 50% acceptance rate, but in October they had absolutely no idea what the size of the applicant pool would be.
Last year, 366 applied ED1 and 166 were accepted (45%) out of a total enrolled class of 590 (ED1 filled 28% of the class). Judging by the day 1 size of the Class of 2021 Facebook group, it seems a similar (or slightly larger) number were accepted ED1 this year.
Since this is the first year for ED2, it’s a big question how many applied and will be accepted.
Good luck to all the ED2 applicants tomorrow!
@jubilant56 wow it will be so great if the acceptance rate for ed 2 is really around 50%
@magtf1 Do you mind posting your stats here? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/wellesley-college/1965672-official-wellesley-class-of-2021-results-thread.html#latest
Hi guys! The decisions would be out in the middle of the night for me. I am surely nervous but mostly intrigued to see how the outcome of this decision shapes me. Best of luck to all you amazing people!
I’m so glad I made this forum because you guys sound like really lovely and dilligent people, I really wish we call all meet up! I truly believe you guys will achieve success in the future, whether you get into Wellesley or not
I AM SO NERVOUS FOR TOMORROW but i believe in all of you. No matter where we go we’ll still have a beautiful affect on the world. I needed to log back in to wish my sisters GOODLUCK Even if we aren’t united under the wellsley class of 2021 <3 goodluck, I’m hoping for all the best for you all
I’m so impatient time is passing so slowly!!
@Pianogirl1235 lol same. I’m trying to distract myself this whole day but it’s still on my mind :////
seriously!! im at school and the wait until 5pm is unreal. also, ive read that chances under ED2 are closer to the RD admission rates? ahhh im so impatient!! even if it’s a rejection or deferral i want to see it already!!
is everyone’s application checklist still showing up?
@beepboop344 where did you read that chances under ed 2 is close to rd?
what other schools are you guys hoping for if you get rejected or deferred today?
@softballgirl007 yes mine is
@taianweston i believe i saw it in a few discussions on college confidential and in this article that says
“For students without a “hook” that helps them stand out, E.D. II may not be as good a bet as E.D. I. Generally, applying early improves your chances. But E.D. I pools tend to be bigger and have stronger applicants, so schools take fewer students in the second round”
but who knows…this is wellesley’s first time doing EDII anyway. forgive me if any of this is misinformed!!
@softballgirl007 Just checked and it’s showing up.
@jubilant56 Yeah, I worked for the Hillary Clinton Campaign and did various other things, and am now focusing on potential travel and continuing to be an organizer and activist for causes I care about and potentially for other campaigns (I am interested in poli sci and other social sciences). I also just took the year to develop as a person, which I definitely have.
Ugh SO nervous. 5 more hours, if our estimates are correct…
I’ll post my admissions decision whatever it is. Though I’m having a very negative gut feeling. Ahhhh!
What time are you expecting the admission decisions to be posted?
@aziagreg Nice. I’m such they’ll appreciate the Hillary campaigning ^^
@staysilver 5:30pm, since that’s when EDI got their decisions.
The support and positivity in this discussion/chat is incredible, especially when juxtaposed to other threads. I think this is truly indicative of the type of students Wellesley attracts! I really hope everyone gets in:) I, too, will post my admission decision tonight.
