I would expect so!
April 13th is pretty early compared to mid-May for most schools. Some schools even release decisions over the summer.
Apparently financial aid letters will be posted the morning of the 14th
Ugh I hope I need to look at my FA
Which aspects of Wellesley appealed to you guys? What made you want to transfer?
I really want to be a Peace and Justice Studies major! Wellesley is one of the only schools with it.
I also go to a school with a big bro culture and I hate it. It’s a nice top 50 liberal arts college, but I just can’t deal with the social vibes. The only thing to do on the weekends is drink and I can do that sometimes, but def. not every weekend. Plus I haven’t clicked with any academic departments or professors.
I love love love that Wellesley is a women’s college, and every single alum I’ve met is so accomplished, well-spoken and sure of themselves. Also the location is so amazing. I live so rural right now I would love to be just a bus ride away from Boston!
I think what draws me most to Wellesley is the location. It’s far enough from the city to give me that relaxed campus feel but still pretty close to Boston so I can visit whenever I like. & I’m not going to lie, the prestige is also important to me. It just has so many amazing alumni. Plus, I really like the idea of attending a women’s college. It would be a brand new experience for me.
Also, did any one of you have an interview?
I wasn’t able to schedule one in time since I started my transfer apps pretty late because I was initially thinking of transferring in the spring. Do you think it will really hurt my chances?
I don’t know! I had a really great interview, and I spoke to an alum who teaches at my school now, but taught at Wellesley last year who sent in a note about me too.
@ifoundalaska
Wellesley is more of a suburb. It’s probably about a thirty minute ride on the commuter rail to Boston or a forty-five minute to one hour bus ride. Just wanted to point that out, but you probably already know.
Yeah! Thank you! I’m literally an hour and a half drive from the closest city (and the closest city isn’t that great) so 45 minutes on a bus sounds like heaven
My portal still says April 8th… so weird! When they say “mailed,” do they mean that it will only be available via physical mail, and not email?
I love your username… I think we have a theme here…
Try calling admissions?
haha thank you @papertownpixie
when I made my account I was such a John Green nerd but I go to his alma mater now and I’m a little over it
I don’t know why your message would be different- mine says “Final admission decision information will become available on Monday evening, April 13, 2015. Decisions will remain posted through Wednesday, May 13, 2015.”
All mine says is “Final admission decision information will be mailed on Wednesday, April 8, 2015.”
Maybe the Davis Degree decisions are done differently than the traditional transfers?
Hm that’s a possibility.
Yeah that would make sense! I think everyone else on this post is a traditional transfer student.
Is anyone else beyond nervous? I do not want to spend another year at my current school and Wellesley is so perfect.
My stomach is in knots!! I haven’t taken pre-calc, and I know that is a specifically strongly recommended course, and I’m afraid that will hurt my chances. I also just hate not knowing when I’m going to find out!
