Waitlisted!

I am terribly sorry to those who were rejected, but always remember that a rejection is a redirection. Congratulations to the admitted applicants, well done!

As for me here as an international applicant, I was waitlisted. I am grateful but also a bit sad.

What hurts is when the part of the letter tells you they’re not sure if they will admit students from the waitlist. Damn.

Me too, what country are you from?

D accepted but expected family contribution is over $70,000. A ridiculous amount–more than 60% of annual net income. I don’t know how they expect middle class families to attend. Wellesley seems to to be for the very rich or those poor enough to qualify for significant financial aid.

How is it possible that the expected family contribution is more than your annual income? Did you get any financial aid at all? :eyes: I’m so sorry.

It’s not more: I would have to devote the equivalent of 60% of net family income per year for my daughter to attend. Wellesley offered only $4,000 in aid, which means practically nothing when the total cost well over $70,000. D was also accepted to Reed, but it was the same thing. I have a college savings account for D, but @$70,000 per year, it would only cover one year.

Maybe your D has only received merit-scholar so far, and the final financial aid package has not arrived yet.

Wellesley doesn’t give merit aid, unfortunately.

Same here :frowning:

I thought only ivy does not provide merit…Wow, I was wrong, so there are more colleges other than ivy only consider need-scholarships.

waitlisted:/ Wellesley is my dream school. Does anyone know if Wellesley tends to take people off the waitlist?
