@didi12 I mean do you have the FA checklist in Jan and Feb? Plus, I think it’s good sign you got that email. Good luck on your applications!
Are you guys referring to the email sent on Jan 31st?
@SuperBigMusicLover We are talking about the email sent to international, DACA, and undocumented students. Because in their website, they say these students don’t have to submit the CSS Profile unless requested by the college, so I think receiving the email requesting css profile may be a good sign. Don’t know about domestic applicants tho.
@yaluyalu Oh, okay! Hopefully, it is a good sign for you guys
@hotpinkspraypaint heyyy there! What major/interest did you apply for? Mine was MAS/CS!
@vikiii I applied for poli sci and english!
hey how much does interview count? I tried requesting for an interview and emailed the admissions about it but they said how the deadline had passed and I’m not at a disadvantage. I was wondering if I should be worried since majority of the applicants interviewed
@autumnbaby Not having an interview means you will not be at a disadvantage. My D got in and had interviewed on campus on a visit. It was with a current student - she didn’t think it went particularly great and I’d suggest if they have students host interviews they probably don’t put a tremendous amount of weight in them. I’d say interviews can help but unless you totally bomb won’t hurt, either. Don’t sweat it. She applied Barnard and we learned of interview process too late to schedule. We don’t think it would have swung her app one way or another. I don’t think any school that does interviews puts too much weight in them unless the interveiwer reports back that the prospect was completely unfit for the school or something!
@AutumnBaby I wouldn’t sweat it, interviews are almost always just a way of a college making sure you’re relatively normal/socialized enough to be fine going to their school.
I’ve seen rumors about the grade deflation policy being removed, is this true? What are yall’s thoughts on grade deflation, and has it impacted anyone’s decision to apply/come to Wellesley?
@CalmCanaries yeah I’ve heard that too. If it’s true, I think it’s wonderful. Students’ mental/physical health should always come above grades, and it’s good that admin is finally realizing that as well. I personally didn’t factor it in too much when applying, because several of the schools I applied to have some sort of grade deflation in place.
@hotpinkspraypaint Cooolll! good luck
Plus anyone knows when the decisions would come out tonight? HYPER EXCITED RIGHT NOW
Probably between 6 and 6:30, that’s when EE decisions came out last month.
@CalmCanaries I’ve been hearing rumors that they’re adjusting the policy, not getting rid of it all together, but I’m not really sure what’s going on. When I applied for EDII, I didn’t mind the policy at all, especially because Wellesley graduates are very well-prepared for graduate studies and still get into their top graduate schools.
I’m so excited for all of you guys and I can’t wait to meet you <3
I am sooooo nervous. I’m terribly worried about the money. For my family income (based on what I’ve read online), we would be expected to pay over 20k, but we cannot afford that!! Ughhhh…
@galsc01 You can negotiate and leverage other offers
@alexandra00 Yes. If it is not enough, I plan to appeal. We are losing 10k in income this summer when I turn 18, so I plan to add that in my appeal.
@galsc01 omg samee! Im worried about the aid too, I really wanna go to Wellesley. Good luck to everyone?
This is a bit late, but did anyone get an email saying: ‘Remember to Check Your Applicant Portal! Have you checked your Applicant Portal lately? You should!’ on February 14th? it seemed a bit odd since they already sent the standard here is the info for your portal email
Was that email sent on 02/14? @soca254
