Wellesley RD........

Whoa! ^_^ Lots of people got into Wellesley. Congrats. [shrugs] It's probably my SAT that didn't give me a chance.

I'm just the opposite with you guys. =/

Ehh I'm sorry PUNKiiE. I think you should look at it this way: if it was your SAT score or any other petty thing on the application that made them choose otherwise, then at least it wasn't your personality. That's just how I like to think about it. There will be many more great opportunities :)

I know. It's just that I wish I got into my first choice. =] I know I can reapply next year. Right now, I'm thinking about an appeal and how to do it. Ha ha I'll be the second person on CC to ever do that. xD Yeeaaaaaaa! [Lil' Jon accent] xD LOL.

My D is IN! But they say our Fin Aid App is in complete, funny no one else said that and besides they are asking for a tax form which I told them I have never filed, ever...? Happy that she is in, will call Fin Aid office tomorrow.

punkie i know what it feels like to not get into ur first choice..i was deferred early to yale so then i applied to wellesley with high hopes. and you know what it's exactly like my enrichment teacher told me: "college is all about destiny..." there has to be a bigger and better reason for you not to go to wellesley at the moment. plus a girl like you seems as if she could compete at any great academic institution. so don't worry.

by the way...i used my yale essay for wellesley...and you know what? IT WAS WORTH IT..something good came out of that application..amazing essays that really meant something.

XD Thank babanana! Whoa deferred at Yale! oo You applied to Yale! I was thinking applying there but I was tired of traveling to CT. XD I decided to stick with MA. =] True I just need to focus more. Lets just hope I get into somewhere. If I don't like it there I'll just reapply. ^^ Hey what did everyone get on their SAT? So I know when to pass the mark. I know some of you might say it might not matter but I think it does matter now because I had a really low score. =]

That's a smart idea! At least it was from the heart! What was it about anyway? Must of been interesting though!

i didn't take the SAT. my ACT score was a 32 (i've skipped two grades so i think its a pretty good score..all my friends at school got the same or higher...) yeah my short answer was about how i love teaching arabic every sunday to little kids for four hours...i love language and talked about how it brings culture and the present together. my common app essay was about how my uncle died and how it affected my family...it was titled "katharsis...cleansing of the soul" because i had written a story to it at the time and i talked about how writing is an outlet for me and not a burden of the past

you can read my "why wellesley" on the thread haberdashy started..it was really short..only 129 words but took me 2 hours to write...i loved it and was surprised when my enrichment teacher ( an amazingly gifted writer herself) didn't change a single thing to it...good times

My SAT score was 2270 (800CR/760M/710W). I definitely think my essay helped me get in; as I said earlier, there was a handwritten note about it at the bottom of my acceptance letter. (Or did they do that for everyone? I thought it was a really nice gesture.)

they did it for me too..YAY...CONGRATS

Hey, Banana,
I skipped 3 grades, and got a 30...how funny.

I also studied Arabic, and tutored kids in foreign languages.

Where else did you apply??

dude....are u arab?? or jewish...i also applied to yale...scripps, umkc's sixyear medical program, MU, KU, Wash U (rejection), and finally ( get ready ) WELLESLEY

man..that's so awesome..everybody at school is always like "OMG..you skipped two grades"..so i'm like three years younger than everybody else..but it's fun..so where do you live..and did u apply to wellesley..are u even a senior????

Anyone want to post the part of the letter where it says all the cool things the admitted students have done?
I loved reading that in the ED letters! :]

yeah...mine said.....

P.S. Your essay about your personal and cultural experiences was absolutely MOVING. Thank you for sharing your perspective with us. CONGRATULATIONS!

OMS...you are so totally right...these personalized notes do mean the world..or at least make me feel slightly important since they are written by the dean of admissions

xD I'm finding that essay right now.

I better come up with a better essay then. =] Hehehe!

Wait never mind! I was talking about that thing with the funny list. I don't know how to describe it. I'm still too tired to be coherent.
So they didn't do the thing when they said, "in the class of 2011 we have admitted someone with a pet giraffe, someone who lives in an igloo, someone who invented a perfume"?
(Of course not like that, or not those things per se. Just made that up haha)
