Wellesley RD........

oh..sorry yeah i became confused..uhhhh

"glider pilot, beekeeper, disc jockey, cherokee story teller, flautist who played at Carnegie hall, figure skater, glassblower, accordion player,

haha okay thanks!
Not as funny as I thought. That definitely could have waited until tomorrow. heehee jk
I liked the list I made up a whole lot better ;]

and then someone has published a microbiology paper with a university professor, worked alongside a planetary atstrophyscist at NASA, traveled to the Artic to study global warming, cleared trails in Alaska/raised guide dogs, worked with HIV positive children in Peru...and a lot of other stuff....!!! amazing women...i CAN'T wait to meet you!!!!

O_O How do they afford to travel so far and wide? [blinks] OMG That sounded so wrong. x.x;

So I started this thread,

And I got in!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

and I want to let everyone know that I am none of the people mentioned in the acceptance letter.

Congrats ANgieAlex!

Babanana, the thread haberdashy created does not exist. o.o;

Didn't get my letter :(

jimbob, you should get it pretty soon. Unless you live in the land far far away! xD [Hint: Shrek movie]

Yeah don't worry jimbob.
I'm in Texas and I haven't gotten mine either.

I'm in CA. Anyone in CA get their letter yet? It's about 4:30pm right now and raining.. and the mailman hasn't made his way yet! I'm hoping I'll get it today or tomorrow since Wednesday's my birthday.

Oh and happy belated birthday Punkiie :-)

I think someone else posted they were in CA and didn't get theirs yet either.

And yes, I second that. Happy belated birthday Punkiieeeeee :]

I'm in Texas and I got in!!! I'm the accordion player ;-)

ACCEPTED! After a possibly for EE too! I'm floating on a cloud. My fin. aid application is incomplete too, but everything has been sent in (last weekend), so it should be complete soon. I hope that I get enough money for Wellesley to be a possibility.

i got mine today.. (l live in CA)

WAITLISTED.

Did any of you that were accepted already have an interview? This waiting game is mental tortue especially with it being so close! Stinking mailman is still not here.. it's 5:15

Sorry to hear Hrhcow :(
Why do you think you were waitlisted? And do you think you'll stay on the waitlist?

it's so frustrating! my parents know that I really want to go so they said if it's where I really want to go I should go... but the prospect of all those loans is making me so sad!

and then if I decicide to go to medical school after that! oi vey!!!

don't get me wrong, I'm sooo happy I got in, but it doesn't really mean much if I can't really afford to go-- or if in order to go, it means I'll be living in a box for the rest of my life. i'm definately appealing b/c their EFC versus the FAFSA EFC has a $20,000 difference... too ridiculous.

anyway, enough babbling from me

I didn't have an interview, and I was accepted.

Faelivren, I know what you mean. Wellesley offered me a $3,000 grant compared to Bryn Mawr's $21,000 (which still isn't nearly enough, but I'd rather be $60,000 in debt than $140,000). I'm still waiting for more decisions, but if their offers are all like Wellesley's, that pretty much eliminates them from the running.

Bryn Mawr is a wonderful school, of course, and I'd be more than happy to attend... but part of me was really hoping to get out of the Mid-Atlantic area for college, and I can't help being a little bit disappointed to have my choices made for me like this.

Faelivren i totally empathize w/you. i got my letter today and was a bit shocked at my financial aid package...i mean my family's EFC was 10x the amount FAFSA and Profile had predicted and now my parents are saying that I'll probably go to a state school instead considering that we are really really low-income...>35,000, and it's really upsetting b/c wellesley was a top top top choice for me and now it seems like it was just a dream...

Ah, I can empathize.. I have a friend who is a brilliant and amazing girl and her parents are forcing her to go to UC Irvine regardless due to costs.

Sucks that money still dictates everything!

well my gpa is pretty average- 4.1 ish and i had one really really bad interview (i'm sure the interviewer was convinced i would not fit in in an all-girls school)

but i actually really liked wellesley, after visiting and chatting with students. i will be accepting a place ont he waitlist.

at least the waitlist gave me more confidence then the rejection i got from bu :/
