Wellesley Spring Transfer 2019?

Anyone is applying Wellesley spring 2019 transfer? I just transferred from a CC to a 4 year college in the fall, classes are fine but community is not what I am looking for. I applied Wellesley for fall 2018 but was rejected, so I am thinking to give Wellesley one more try. My concerns are I have already did 4 semesters at CC, and now is one more semester at current school, I don’t know if they would think I have too many credits to consider; and my current college is quit competitive, and it’s my first semester here so I am really worried about my GPA…

Spring 2019 is going to be my last chance, and I really want to go to Wellesley (plus I am not that happy at my current school either). I just don’t know how would Wellesley consider GPA from different schools? My current school is tough to survive and students average GPA is 3.3, I am hoping I can have a 3.0 GPA after first semester at my current college. I don’t know if this is a high enough GPA to reapply to Wellesley…?

I would check to see if you’re still eligible to transfer at this point. Since you’re a junior based on credits, you might not be able to apply. You might want to look into schools that are similar to Wellesley but will still allow you to transfer at this point. Good luck!

Hey! So I am a spring 2018 transfer here at Wellesley and I did do 5 semesters at my previous community college plus 2 more semesters at a dental school back in Thailand (basically, I have taken 7 semesters of college with literally enough credits to get a bachelor lol) and I still got accepted! I am sure you are eligible to transfer. You can also check with the admissions office if you still have doubts.

With your GPA though I think you should definitely try to keep it above 3.0. Although GPA is not everything, Wellesley average accepted GPA is relatively high. You should also focus on your ECs and transfer essay! Just do your best

Good luck with your application!!!

I am applying to Wellesley 2019 spring transfer too! I applied to Wellesley during high school in the ED1 round and was deferred then rejected. I really like Wellesley so I am reapplying as a sophomore. I don’t think I have a lot of chance of getting admitted. But if I was rejected i wanna see if I could apply to spend a semester or two as Wellesley.

Congratulations on getting admitted! How’s your Wellesley experience so far?

The decision dates disappeared from my portal. Are we getting them today?

@AnArcticMonkey my portal as well. but I know the decision is supposed to release today.

I just got accepted by Wellesley! I did my freshman year and am currently finishing one last quarter at CC. My GPA was really bad in HS but now I’ve maintained a 4.0 for my entire college academic career. Even with this track record I was worried that I wouldn’t get into Wellesley because about 10% of transfer applicants are accepted and it is a sister-ivy school.
Wellesley looks for the total package or “golden student” to embody their values. While I think your GPA is not as competitive, your personal story and test scores can still elevate you. Like others say, make sure you have a backup.

Wish you and the rest of the applicants all good news
