Wellesley vs. Bard

Hey all, I am getting down to the last days trying to decide between Bard and Wellesley. Probably my biggest concern/question about Wellesley is this: do you feel that it is worth the stress? I.e., Bard seems more relaxed and holistic, while Wellesley seems more specific, to the point where the focus shifts from learning to grades. Do you find this to be true? Does the school feel intellectual as well as academic?
Thanks!

Hi, Skinny. I had a similar choice (between Reed College and Wellesley). I chose Wellesley for a few reasons. The first was the single-gender environment. The opportunity to attend a women’s college is once-in-a-lifetime, literally. The second was the unparalleled opportunities offered by the Center for Work and Service and the alumnae network. My fear in choosing Wellesley over Reed was very similar to yours. However, I came to the conclusion that Wellesley attracts the best and the brightest. There is bound to be a surplus of intellectual women at Wellesley. Good luck in making your decision! Those are two great choices and you will be happy wherever you end up.
