Hello CC'ers! A friend of mine got into Wellesley and Mt. Holyoke. Actually, Mt. Holyoke was her first choice, and she only applied to Wellesley as a 'wild reach,' so when she got into both she got confused. :(

Does anyone have any helpful comments/suggestions for her? She's a really indecisive person, so she'll need some helpful information.

Wellesley. no doubt.

Wellesley is a great school; however, if Mt. Holyoke is the perfect fit for her, I'm sure she could get an excellent education there as well. She shouldn't blindly choose Wellesley if she is unsure about spending the next four years there- college rankings aren't everything, although they are something to consider. I'm having a hard time deciding about college right now as well. I liked the advice someone write in an earlier post about imagining you are sitting on an airplane and the person next to you asks where you went to college- imagine yourself answering with both choices- which is a better feeling?

I'm not sure if Mt. Holyoke is the perfect fit for her...she said she focused more on Mt. Holyoke because she thought she'd never get in to Wellesley. She decided to apply there last minute, though, since she didn't want to regret never having tried. She refused to think about Wellesley not to get her hopes up, but now that she's in she's unsure of what to do.

She's thinking of visiting later this month, but I'm not sure whether she'll be able to afford it. I guess visiting would be the best thing to do.

If "fit" is about the same, go with Wellesley...close to Boston, MUCH more famous, more respected.

Mt. Holyoke is an excellent school, but Wellesley is THE preeminent
all women's college. Plus, it is just outside Boston.
