Thanks for your info!! @icpolisci congratulations!!

Anything recently? So quiet these weeks…

Does someone have any idea when waitlist stats will publish? Only a few more days till the list closes

Waitlist rejected. And there’s what it’s like to be finally rejected after 3 months, for those who might be interested.

When I was first waitlisted, i panicked and went through all past threads of Wellesley waitlist discussions. I saw some really active, concerned, anxious CCers went silenced after the result came out, leaving unfinished thread dangling there. I wondered about how they feel, crossed my fingers for them to be happy, and finally here I am standing in their shoes (so ironic…). So here’s my side of the ending for this wait list story: I’m happy that I’m waitlisted, for I see it still as a recognition of what I’ve done; It didn’t hurt as much as I thought when I got the rejection, because my mind was occupied by course registration of the school that I’m going to. My counselor sees college admission this way: That you are waitlisted or rejected by a school doesn’t mean that it doesn’t want you; but a school that accept you wants you badly. I have dreamed going to Wellesley for years and prepared really hard, and I actually got indignant when I didn’t get in right away. But now I feel so lucky that there is a school that awaits me to accept it wholeheartedly, just like how I wished Wellesley could lift me off the waitlist.

Thanks Wellesley, for motivating me to become who I am today. Good luck and Be happy for all.

I am sorry you did not get in to Wellesley. If Wellesley’s claim to fame is to produce strong, opinionated, smart and intelligent women who are not afraid to speak their mind, then You Are A Wellesley Woman.

It takes a lot of courage and self assurance to be able to over come the feeling of sadness, to post what you posted above. It doesn’t matter you did not get in to Wellesley but you will shine and succeed where you go, with this poise and great attitude.

Keep Your Chin Up and enjoy the college that wants you. You will do great things in the future.

Best Wishes For A Bright Future… =D>

Thanks @tamtiger This just makes me feel even more blessed Best of luck to you and your D!

@CeenCat Quick question, how did you contact the alumnae for the interviews? Wellesley says that they don’t offer any for wait listed students Also, if I sent in another 2 page long essay saying why I want to go to Wellesley, 2 research papers (physics and history), and a letter of rec, should that be enough? Or should I send in some more writing samples?
@staarman I didn’t contact the alumnae through Wellesley – I asked my guidance councilor if she knew of any alumnae in the area. You can also check Linkd In, and find profiles for alumnae in your area.
That would be plenty! Also, you essay saying why you want to attend doesn’t need to be that long. Make sure it’s succinct but also covers everything - you don’t want to bore them!
Awesome, thanks @CeenCat! I’m not sure if I’ll contact them since my counselor is terrible at getting back to me, and it might seem awkward if I stalk them and randomly send them an email asking for an interview, especially since I’m not sure if they do do interviews… how did you manage it without seeming too awkward?
