wellesley? WELLESLEY!!

At least from the prospectives day, the food was pretty good, a lot of choices. There's also A LOT of ice cream, the tour guide said that they spend like a million $ on ice cream each year. That could be bad or good :)
Also, in there are other schools in Wellesley, aren't there? Babson & a business school (can't recall its name), I believe. Plus, I've heard that they offer a lot of activities on campus, as well

i don't think the single sex issue is as big as it sounds. sure, there are no guys in your classes, but that does not diminish the quality of your education. there are still plenty of social opportunities to meet/date guys. if you take your education seriously, then you will be spending a lot of your time studying and hanging out with your girlfriends (as you would at a coed campus)... in the end, you will probably socialize with guys almost as much as a "wellesley girl" as you would at any other college. the big difference is that there are no guys in your classes. if that bothers you, then you should not be applying to a women's college anyway.

my D is applying to wellesley. i attended Columbia back in the days when it was still single sex. it was no big deal, really... i realize that columbia college (25 yrs ago) and wellesley today may not be a valid comparison, but i certainly hope that my D gets into wellesley. i have the greatest respect for the school.

Thanks for the insight fairburn. I admit, I initially scoffed at the idea of attending a women's college. But now, let's just say I really hope I can afford Wellesley because it is awesome! I'm loving it more every day and I can definitely see myself there. Good luck to your D!
