<p>wow and damn......
i like.. applied to Wellesley????? so this article is making me think quite a bit.
but is this really, really true?? cuz if it is, then it's kinda scary...</p>
<p>why is that scary? it's not like wellesley invented affairs with professors; were you shocked by "mona lisa smile"? and the idea of becoming a lesbian for your time at school isn't new either.
wellesley is still a fantastic college in terms of both academics and the personal relationships formed by its students. just because some students are "sexually confident" as that article put it doesnt mean all of them are, and it doesnt mean you will come out of wellesley a sex addict. there are adventurous women at every college.</p>
<p>yes I'm aware of that scarfmadness, but it seems like Wellesley has a lot more of them compared to other schools.
well, I'm still so very happy with my likely letter;)</p>
<p>It's scary because:
1. Sexual relationships between students and professors is just wrong- and constitutes a form of statutory rape in many cases.
2. It's disturbing how these women need to resort to drastic measures in order to satisfy their lust- and seem to have little or no self control.
3. Anyone who sleeps with 26 people is just icky...STDs, anyone?
4. It's disturbing how relationships are regarded as status symbols and/or ways to rebel (ex. the kitchen staff) instead of a connection between two people.
5. It's sad how sex is sought after merely for its recreational value and seems to have lost all emotional significance whatsoever.
6. It's distressing that the "liberation" of women has come to mean the "freedom to sleep around." Is the moral degeneration of both genders the only way to achieve equality?

<ol>
<li> If they're both adults, then why is it wrong? What if they're not in any way academically tied to one another? How does it matter?</li>
<li> Some women actually enjoy sex. Egads. Alert the press.</li>
<li> Can't argue that.</li>
<li> That's what happens when you repress women's sexuality for centuries.</li>
<li> This is different from the past...how?<br></li>
<li> Why is sex necessarily moral degeneration?</li>
</ol>
<ol>
<li>If they are not academically tied to one another, then it is perfectly legal, but it still seems wrong to me- just my personal opinion.</li>
<li>Can't argue that; however, there is something to be said for moderation.</li>
<li>I rest my case.</li>
<li>I understand the need everyone has to rebel every now and then. It just seems wrong to use other people and the pretense of a relationship in order to become "cool" or "liberated."</li>
<li>Just because its always been that way doesn't mean it isn't sad.</li>
<li>Sex itself is not moral degeneration; however sex outside of wedlock is. Again thats just my opinion, but whether or not it's right or wrong, I still cannot see how the loosening of morals brings us closer to gender equality...</li>
