Hi everyone, I was nominated for the Wells Scholarship and submitted my essays last night. Does anyone know how many people get nominated per year, and what the stats of past winners look like? Just don’t want to get my hopes up if there’s not much of a chance…

The director of the Wells scholarship committee emailed me and my parents saying that I had been nominated, and gave a link to a secondary scholarship application. Many of the other large scholarships don’t require extra essays like the Wells scholarship, so those are probs the ones your son is looking at. Congrats and good luck right back at y’all!!

Found out son is an alternate 
It looks like Denison is out of the realm of possibility, even with the Founders Scholarship of $24,000 (still leaves $34,000…) a year. So disappointed.
Same here country life, bummer. Wonder how many alternates they select?
I have no idea… I can’t imagine anyone turning down this scholarship.
