Wells Scholarship

I'm in the thick of my applications right now, trying to decide where and when to apply and all. I'm interested in applying for the Wells scholarship for IUB, but I live in California and my high school can't nominate me so I have to go through the Admissions Office. Does anyone know how my status as an out-of-stater will affect my chances? My info is pretty generic, #2 in a class of 700 something, 4.67 GPA (4.0 unweighted), 800 English & 720 Math SAT, all 5s on 5 AP tests, a list of e.c.s and such. I figure the essays will make or break me. Any input is greatly appreciated.

BTW, I LOVE this school! It's got everything under the sun, and the nicest people to boot.

Guess there's little reason to bump this thread. It's really specific. But I'll try once more....

Wow, you definitely sound like you would be a great candidate for the scholarship. I wouldn't say you are a pretty "generic" applicant. I don't know anything about the Wells scholarship, other than there's a link on the Indiana homepage.

If you don't get the scholarship, you will likely get 3/4 tuition at least with your credentials. There is definitely a scholarship coming your way if you go to Indiana. Don't stress out, you are much more qualified than other applicants (including me! and I was hoping for some scholarship money!)
