Wells Scholarship

So I wanted to apply for the Wells scholarship, but there is a problem. My school didn't start accepting applications until this week, and Indiana says to be considered for the scholarship, you needed all your information in BY September 20, 2005!

Also, in order to apply for the scholarship, you need a teacher recommendation which I haven't got yet (I've only been in school for 2 weeks), as well as a written essay (which I haven't done), List of ECs, and a resume type thing.

I sent in my Counselor Signature Form to my school on Tuesday, and I don't know if it's been processed and can't check. So I don't know if they will receive my application materials on time.

Should I still apply, or has time just simply run out on me and I should look at other scholarships?

I'm applying for the Wells Scholarship! But I've known about it since March. I think it's a marvelous opportunity. It's easy enough to shoot off a list of ECs and an essay of Academic Interests. Sit down for an hour, on like Friday afternoon, and make yourself shine :) Are you close to any of last years' teachers? If you go in today or tomorrow, and say "I'm begging you! I need this letter of recommendation for a scholarship due Tuesday and I'll do anything to get it. I'll bring you flowers, presents...what's your favorite type of cookie?" Ooh, better yet, bring the cookies with you. And a pie. Who doesn't like pie?

Give the teacher a weekend to write the letter, collect it on Monday (or stalk them at their home) and rush-mail it. I just realized that my teacher hasn't contacted me about the completed letter. So I'm the one that's screwed. Let me get on that....

Oh, and good luck! I hope to meet you in December!

Well I got the teacher to do it... but i'm getting the letter sent Monday afternoon, so basically i'm cutting it off until the last minute.

I'm worried about having my transcript and test scores sent in time. I turned them into my school Tuesday, but I don't think it's going to be sent and received in time.

I got everything from the school directly--the letter, counselor signature, transcript--and put it in a big envelope to mail overnight from the post office. Can you get a copy of your test scores and transcript, include them in this way, and write a note saying the official versions are on their way?

Ehhh I decided not to apply. I didn't even qualify because i'm top 30% and 29 on ACT. They want either 25 on ACT and top 5%, or 31 on ACT and top 20%. I hate being in a tough class :(
