Hi,
I went to an IB high school in Quebec and never realized that my "Internation Education" program was serious. We were always told during IB exams (scored on a scale from 1 to 7) that they were "worthless" and "didn't count on our report card". Now I see everywhere that kids take this program seriously.

Anyways, after paying zero attention to my IB marks I fininished with a total of 37 points. Is this good/crappy? I have really no idea what this means... Should I mention this on my eventual collage apps (im applying to colleges next year)

Thanks.

37 points is VERY good, at least in Louisiana. And yes, you should probably mention it. Most colleges give credit for 5-7 on HL exams, and a 37 means you got some of those.

Dude. My school is hyper-on-my-case about getting a 30! And I'm valedictorian!

lol... IB=International Baccaloreaut (spelling?), right

Oh wow, ok well thanks for the good news!

37 is quite good. The recommended standard for Oxford/Cambridge is 38 . This means you are in the ballpark for most first tier universities in the world. Also having a full IB means you are eligible to matriculate at any university in Europe. Since you're from Quebec your French might be good enough to go to France. English language university education is getting very big in most of Europe particularly in Holland. Britain is quite expensive but fees on the continent range from nothing to a few thousand dollars. Congratulations on having the self discipline to do the IB diploma rather than the certificate
