We're slowly catching up to College Confidential Cafe in Post Numbers

To answer the earlier question about how'd I feel about Scientologists/Satanists running the country...

If they're qualified and I believe in their message and think they'd be good, sure. I don't care if you worship Satan or do drugs or get married 5 times in your free time, I just care about how you run the country.

Am I really in the minority with that? Should I just give it all up and move to Europe?

If religion didn't matter, would you vote for a theistic Satanist or a senior Scientologist?

If they didn't let morals that were outside of the norm influence decision making- sure. However, this question is rather moot since I highly doubt the American people will even vote to allow people like this through the primaries in my lifetime.
As a modern example of this- Christian leaders who would use these beliefs to determine that abortion should be illegal because of the belief that a soul exists at conception. (Please lets not start an abortion debate. This was just the first thing that sprung to mind).

Otherwise, I really couldn't care less about a leader's personal life. So long as they run the country alright, then whatever (teenage_cliche- I think we may unfortunately be in the minority).

For those wondering, Theistic Satanists actually worship Satan.
It's LaVeyan Satanists who are the ones who don't actually believe in Satan and just use 'him' as an idea.

LaVeyan Satanists are the ones who worship themselves and believe in complete personal freedom.

Because our morals are a major part of who we are, I doubt any candidate's decisions would not be influenced by their morals. People generally vote for someone who has the same or close to the same beliefs as them. Because the majority of America has a Judeo-Christian belief system, a candidate who believes in a religion outside the norm whether it be Satanism, Scientology, or Islam would have a very difficult time being elected. Sadly, religion does play a part in being elected.

^What annoys me is that the official Methodist standpoint is that abortion is between a woman, her doctor, and her God.

Clearly, this hasn't gotten around to either the President or the VP.

/rant

lol oh how the times have changed
