Were These Classes Just A Waste for Pre-Med?

Hey y'all,

In my senior year (homeschooled--Graduated in Dec. 2012), I was allowed to take classes at a Community College through their program called Middle College for Summer '12 and Fall '12. I took the following courses:

1) Gen. Bio Science I
2) Eng Comp. I
3) Gen. Psych 101
4) Intro. Soc 101

My question is this:
I saw where there are some Med Schools that will not accept credits that were taken at a CC, so does this mean what I have done thus far is useless unless I retake them at my University? I'll be attending a 4yr university next month as a Psychology (+pre-med track) BS major. Also, on my transcript that I viewed online from my CC didn't list my courses that were taken as part of Middle College.--Just a regular transcript; will that cause any confusion for Med School? Those four are transferring completely to my 4yr btw.

Any helpful info or input is greatly appreciated in advance!!! :)

There are only a handful of med schools that state they will not accept CC credits (JHU, VCU, Creighton, probably a few more).

However, if you take 2 additional semesters of upper level bio at your 4 year college, you won’t have an issue even those schools. (Pre reqs says 2 semesters of bio with lab. It can be any bio class. It doesn’t have to be Intro to Bio.)

Your CC credits will be considered when you apply for medical school. They will be included in your AMCAS GPA, even if your 4 year does not accept the credits or count them towards your undergrad degree program. You will need to send an official transcript to AMCAS from the CC when you go to apply.
