Mine was pathetic, got 25 but never got lower than a 28 composite in practice tests. Highest was 33.
what is a red book in act?
I took only one practice and got a score around 28-29. My actual score was a 26. Made me sad!!! I definitely need to practice more. Hope I can do well for the April one.
My score was much higher than anticipated! When i first took the ACT i made a 27 and and on my practices i had a range of 26-29 and when i took the actual test i made a 31!
1900 total SAT (attended a prep class, did not actually do much prep work though)
30 total ACT (she took one science practice test before)
–D says she just likes the test better and the math is more straight up for her.
Don’t worry. Just practice. I went from a 24 in April 2015 to a 29 in October.
My son did 219 PSAT and 34 his first ACT. Both better than expected, cause I haven’t seen him working too hard. Complete chill IMO… He maxed out math and writing, but stumbled a bit on reading (PSAT), and had perfect score on English and two math subsections, but got burned on geometry and science a bit (ACT). The scores are not far away from each other, based on extrapolation of PSAT.
I used the red book by the way.
My Plan predicted me at a 31. I went in to February 2015 with no prep and got a 33 overall.
33E 32M 33R 36S with an 8 on the essay section. I was particularly worried about Math and my perfect Science came out of nowhere.
I then did prep consisting of that red book, which predicted me getting low 30s in Reading and English and a 25 and a 27 in Math and Science. Makes you feel as if the first time was a fluke.
The retake in April garnered me a 34. With 34E 33M 34R 35S and 8 on the essay section. Near perfect increase barring essay and science.
My SAT did not reflect my scores on the ACT as I went 2040 on that.
I took practice ACT tests from Princeton Review and got between 26-29 and my 155 PSAT score did not indicate that I would perform that well. On the practice tests I would score in the 30’s on math, 27-30 on english, 26-28 on reading, and 24-26 on science. On the actual test I got a 32- 31E, 29M, 33R, 33S; I was disappointed about math, but I did no think I would do that well on science and reading. I think the key to that was time management; Inactually took one practice test without timing myself and I got a 32 on that, I guess I reached my full potential on the actual exam.
