Were your SAT scores higher than your PSAT scores?

I've heard (and read) that you should expect your SAT scores to be higher than your PSAT scores (ie if you get a 200 on the PSAT, you might expect a 2100 or so on the SAT). I was just the opposite. I found the SAT to be a good bit harder, and my score was lower than on the PSAT. I got a 211 on the PSAT (73 W, 70 M, 68 CR) back in the fall, and when I took the SAT in March for the first time I scored a 2020 (640 W [6 essay], 660 M, 720 CR).

Did everyone else have their scores go up or did anyone else have a drop like this?

I had a drop too. 228 on PSAT (77 W, 76 M, 75 CR), and then in Jan, a 2130 on SAT (680 W, 800 M, 650 CR). I brought the CR up to 730 in March, bringing my superscore up to a 2210, but that's still a 7 point decrease. I wish I could have just added zeros to the PSAT score.

You can take it again though, scores (at least for me) vary so much with each day.

I think PSATs were barely over 200 for me, while my SAT was 2260.

But maybe i just got luckyy...?

I got a 231 on my PSAT and a 2270 on my SAT. I think if your PSAT score is high to begin with, there's obviously a greater chance that it'll go down on the real thing.

215; 2360.

yeah. hella higher.

226 on PSAT, 2370 on SAT. It went up, but as someone has noticed before, the higher your PSAT the more likely your SAT is to go down.

180; 2160

keep in mind they were like five study months apart...

PSAT- 204
SAT- 2080 (1280 out of 1600)

The trend was the same, though. I think my CR PSAT was about a 70 and my SAT was a 720. My PSAT writing was a 74ish and SAT 800.

216; 2330..

Haha. I screwed up. 225 or something was my Junior Year score.

oops.

PSAT: 208

SAT: 2330 first time.

Psat 206
Sat 2190

PSAT: 191
SAT: 2030

There are too many threads on this topic.

Psat: 198 (133 Mv)
Sat: 2140 (1410 Mv)

Psat-186
Sat- 2040

PSAT: 214 - 80M (i have no idea how this happened...), 64CR, 70W

SAT: 2230 - 700M, 760CR, 770W

Didn't study at all for the PSAT...studied my ASS off for the SAT. Frankly, I expected more than a 90 point increase...

Psat: 204

Sat: 2300.

Well, it seems just about everyone got as high or higher on the SAT, and I really can't figure out how or why...the SAT seemed a bit harder for me

SAT scores seem higher because people usually prep A LOT more for the SAT than the SAT. People are older and more academically mature when they take the SAT.

Actually, this is probably only true for us 'elite' CC'ers. Most people I know in my school did WORSE on the PSAT than their SAT.

^^
I think you mean worse on the SAT than on their PSAT. :)
