Wes ED2 chances?

<p>I'm thinking of applying ED2 to Wesleyan and I was wondering where I stood, should I go for it, or is it too far of a reach? </p>

<p>I'm a white female from a very competitive public school in CT. </p>

<p>GPA: 3.78 (uw) 3.93 (w)
Grades and rigor of classes on upward trend since 9th grade
SAT I: 2130 (720 CR, 710 M, 700 W)
SAT II History 760
SAT II Lit 700
APUSH - 4
AP Psych - 4
AP Lang - 4 </p>

<p>Senior year scheudule - AP Lit, AP Environmental Science, AP Stats, AP Econ, AP Gov, Theatre</p>

<p>1st teacher rec and guidance counselor rec should be great. 2nd teacher rec will be very good. </p>

<p>Essay is very good. It is about how I have learned to live within the instability of an alcoholic family. One of my parents has been in and out of recovery for the last 6 years which was the reason my grades suffered in Middle School (2 grades of which are on my transcript because they were HS level and are pulling my GPA down) </p>

<p>National Honor Society, English Honor Society, Theatre Honor Society - 2 years</p>

<p>4 years of Theater-acting, lights, set crew, directing
4 years of GSA - Founding Member and have been treasurer for 3 years, President 1 year
4 years of a literary magazine
2 years of Newspaper
2 years of a tutoring program in our HS
2 years of writing theater reviews for a teen magazine in NYC</p>

<p>Leadership
Founded a teen program at the town library
Founded a theater program that produced a play for elementary students. I directed, did props, costumes, everything.
Founded a theater blog.
Founded a Student Directed show at my high school.</p>

<p>Summers
Freshman-attended a local performing arts program
Sophomore-attended same local performing arts program and did internship at acting program in NYC
Junior year-did internship at same acting program in NYC and attended Tisch Summer Program for the Arts at NYU</p>

<p>Awards-AP Scholar, Scholastic Writing Silver Award, Statewide playwriting contest </p>

<p>I am a Wes alum and dad of a current Wes student, and if Wesleyan is truly your first choice, I would say absolutely go for it. I hope you have taken the time to do an interview either on campus or with an alum. That’s important because you have a compelling story and your grades and scores are in the range but not above it. If you can’t get an interview I advise you to get an additional reference from a teacher in a class where you excel–perhaps theater–and who can tell your story. Good luck!</p>
