Actually, Sarah Lawrence got the most votes by far, but Gawker -- which must be run by someone who got rejected by Wes -- pulled a George-Bush-like Supreme Court ruling and ignored the ballot box. Fine. How about we vote for most annoying snarky gossip site?

That is absolutely hilarious! I am not at all surprised that Sarah Lawrence WANTED to be the most annoying.
Is there an equivalent for most annoying University? Most fratastic? Hottest Chicks? Always calling themselves the Harvard of the South or West?

heh. I voted for Wesleyan. I'm not sure why - irony, maybe?

I don't actually think Wesleyan is annoying. I think it's quite great, really. The whole idea of this poll is so absurd in the first place that Wesleyan may as well win it :P If talking about Faulkner is deemed too pretentious and annoying, well, then, so be it, because I happen to think he was fairly brilliant :P

I couldn't get over the irony of a Manhattan newsletter calling something annoying.

That's absurd. There may be annoying people there, but there are also a lot of folks there (profs and students) who are just plain amazing. It's one of the best colleges in the country.

posterX: True. But the whole poll was absured...it was basically a "Which hipp-ish liberal college is the most hippy-ish and liberal, and therefore, by our standards, the most annoying as well." Which, really, is a poll I don't mind winning, since, yeah, Wes is awesome and full of hippy-ish liberal events.

Wes rocks (we[s]rock?). Can't wait to go there in the fall!

Personally, I'm tickled that they have "awarded" this titled to Wesleyan since I've met a woman who writes for gawker.com and she got turned down by Wes. Good times.

I can definitely see how Wes can rub some people the wrong way. I remember I was annoyed at Wesleyan's crazy students when I was a frosh, but now that i'm a senior I realize how much I love the alternative atmosphere at Wes and i'm going to miss it when I graduate. That being said, I lived in Clark Hall freshman year and some students decided to protest outside our dorm building about how racist Clark Hall was. Someone then chalked something along the lines of "Clark Hall Racist" in front of our entrance even though my hall was 50% Asian. I just wish I had another year at Wes, but next year will be my last. =(
