WesCheck

I've searched to see how reliable WesCheck is on this forum but I wanted to know how long it usually takes for items to get posted as received.

I mailed the application fee and midterm report 11 days ago and they still haven't shown up in the received items list. I've even sent things in after that and they have shown up.

I would have payed by credit card online but did not have my WesID until after I sent the check so didn't know I could pay online. I wonder what would happen if I payed online now so that I know they definitely got it...would they send back the check I sent or not cash it? I don't want to end up paying twice...

Are you applying as a transfer student? I am, and they just recently updated my check list after I called them. I sent in all my materials other than the mid-term report about two months ago. They're pretty nice on the phone and will fix it immediately if they have received all the materials. I need to mail my mid-term report before tomorrow lol. Good luck!

yep, i'm applying as a transfer student. i'm just getting worried because they let me send in my application late so i figured they would update WesCheck faster since they probably already processed everyone else's applications.

I will call them tomorrow because I know it's been more than a week since everything has been submitted.

Good luck to you, too!

Yea, I'd say just call them. They've been very nice to me and don't seem to be too annoyed... haha. WesCheck have been updated fairly quickly for me...

I just called yesterday actually and (Karen I think?) said something like welllll, they have your file out for review right now so I might not be able to answer all your questions... blah blah blah. AHHHH so nervous. Be strong fellow transfers, be strong. hahaha...

I'm NOT applying as a transfer, and they say they haven't received my CommonApp things (ie Fee, Application, and Essay) even though I have a confirmation email from CommonApp.
I sent it in two nights ago. Hoping it just takes a while to update???

It also says it hasn't received my Early Admission Statement, which was in the mail by the due date.

I've emailed them, but I'm so nervous. Reassuring responses please??

From my experience, it seems that it takes a while for them to update. I imagine that they've been inundated with materials this past week and are still getting through them. I wouldn't worry; if they haven't updated by the middle of next week, then I would call.

Thanks so much!!
I think I may call tomorrow, just in case :)

Dude. I am in the exact (EXACT!) same boat. Then again, maybe it was a bad idea to wait until November 14 to send in my early app, but shiiiit -- I'm a procrastinator. I freaked out a bit, then realized they're probably just overwhelmed. Absolute worst case scenario, I'm forced to apply ED II instead.

I think they are waiting for all the stuff to come in. I sent mine on the 14th too and I think we'll be okay. If it makes you guys feel better, my teacher sent my rec last weekend and they still haven't put it in. I'm sure they're going to update soon. If it takes too long though, I think I'm gon call. :)

Yeah, I'm a really indecisive person, so I didn't decide on Wes until the last minute (although now, I'm so sure it's the best place for me and I'm ridiculously anxious about admission).

I also realized I forgot to include being a National Merit Scholar in my application!!!!!!! Although they should know that I am one because I chose them as one of my two top-choice schools in that mail-in thing from the National Merit people, right?

Yeah, they should have added that to their records. I got a letter on August 28: "Congratulations! We recently heard from the National Merit Scholarship Corporation and are pleased to learn of your fine performance on the PSAT blah blah blah blah come to Wesleyan."

Wescheck still isn't updated for me. Anyone else?

Yes I got that letter too -- but it should be on my CommonApp too. I emailed them about it.

Nope no updates for me either.

(Anyone else checking this board compulsively? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/wesleyan-university/589432-chance-me-please.html sorry I'm soo anxious!!)

Nope. Nothing yet.

Oh! I got an email acknowledging I turned in my app. It says that WesCheck should be ready in about 2 weeks or so.

I just got the same one today!

Same. So, uh . . . we're in the clear?!

I think so!

SCORE! Everything was updated for me this morning on Wescheck!! (Except the midyear report).
You guys' probably are too

yea same here, everything of min was updated...and so it begins....

According to WesCheck, they still have not received my second teacher evaluation. I actually ended up asking three teachers to write recs, after my guidance counselor told me that my band teacher didn't "count" as an academic rec (I had already asked him and one other teacher). I wasn't about to tell my band teacher to forget about it, and anyway he mailed the rec out shortly thereafter and it was updated on WesCheck as teacher evaluation 1. Happy day. So I wasn't exactly taking a leap of faith in expecting at least one of the other two to get to Wes.

But since then, my app and essay were updated on WesCheck, even though I have confirmed with my teachers that they had mailed the recs long before I had actually submitted my commonapp. Maybe admissions is confused about which of the two recs to use? Should I call them, or have my guidance counselor call to explain?

I did receive a confirmation email from Wes, and it says that I can use WesCheck two weeks after the deadline to make sure everything is updated, so maybe I'll just wait.
