General Comments/Congratulations/etc: I am ecstatic. Congrats to everyone else!

woah, how did u guys receive decisions already??
is everyone getting the mail soon or just select number of applicants?

The letter specified that this is only the “first wave” of acceptances (or rejections?). Good luck to all!

Wow, so soon! Who’s planning to attend?

Holy crap… :O

I wonder if I’ll get a letter soon! I live in NJ.

Edit: wow, both of the acceptees are val’s. I’m only top 10%, lol…

So they’re coming out in waves? All snail mail?

I hope mine comes in the mail Monday.

@ z, as of right now I am planning to attend, even though I got SLIGHTLY more money from Brandeis (I <3 them both, but I like Wes more). I’m still waiting on Brown and Tufts though, and the only competition with Wes would be Brown, I think (though I’m still thinking that even if I somehow got into Brown, I would go to Wesleyan). We’ll see, though.

I hope you all get letters soon!!!

The letter implied that only acceptances are being sent out now, and only to some people. Rejections and the rest of the acceptances will, i assume, be sent out later.

And yes, snail mail.

Decision: ACCEPTED!!!

Maybe it’s only to valedictorians :O

MusicMeli: Wow, we have REALLY similar extra-curricular interests! Musicals, math, choir, Spanish, community service… (And I loved Brandeis too). I really hope you come to Wes, even if you get into Brown!!

-An EDer
Feel free to message me

:) Thanks flying pig.

The odds are likely.

haha, i noticed that too, but i seriously doubt it’s true. This is CC, after all. You’re going to run into more valedictorians than anywhere else.

and haha, i applied to brandeis too! it’s where my brother goes and i really love it there.

Wow! You guys who’ve been accepted today have so much better stats than I do, BUT hopefully my stats will provide some hope to those still waiting and for those in future generations who will worry how much weight tests scores may have on the admissions game.

Decision: Accepted  :)

SAT II: Biology M: 680; Literature: 580; US History: 580; Math II: 490

Essays: (Feelings on Common App) Very very good…as told by a handful of people who’ve read them. They were extremely personal and dealt with hard topics on race, finances, struggle, adversity, and even marriage and how I hope college will open up more doors and opportunites never offered to me before. (Without a doubt, my essays definitely pushed me into the admit pile. Thank you for AP English Language and my awesome teacher!)
Teacher Recs: I read one and it teared me up. She knows me well and she was able to pull in some personal touches to it and was also able to talk about my home life. The other, written by my AP English Language teacher, I’m sure was just as personal.
Counselor Rec: I did not read this, but imagine it was probably similar to the others.
Interview: N/A
Hook (if any): Essays (?), Arts Supplement (I wrote a play), Major theatre experience (competitions), Science Supplement, URM, first generation college student, low-income
State or Country: Virginia
School Type: Public

Important ECs: THEATRE, Thespian Honor Society, Animal Club, German Club, Debate, Chorus., Culture Club…I had several officer positions including President, Treasurer, and Historian.
Other Factors: I will have taken 14 AP classes by the time I graduate. 7 as a junior and 6 as a senior, alone.
General Comments/Congratulations/etc: I am very honored to be among the very select few who are offered a spot at Wesleyan…I mean, look at the other CCers who were accepted! They clearly have better stats than I do, but I’m very proud of myself that I was able to convey other special characteristics about myself than simply test scores. Congratulations to everyone accepted thus far and good luck to those still waiting! Go Wesleyan, Class of 2013!

Congratulations, AmbitiousMind! Hope I get the chance to meet you next year!

Thanks, flying_pig! I really have some thinking to do as to where I want to go. I’ve received some pretty sweet offers from some very good schools–many of which are completely different from the others. And there’s still more to come. Wesleyan, however, is still near the top of my list!

Congrats to all of those accepted so far! Can’t wait to see everyone next year :)
