Wesleyan or Vassar?

"As the mother of a Wes senior I can only say that I've been more than happy with Wesleyan. My s's teacher have superb, supportive, brilliant, accross the board. His friends are the greatest - smart, serious, focused, fun. He has been mentored by wonderful people. He loves it and is happy there as are his friends. And I am not a pushover."

As the mother of a Vassar student, I echo these words in relation to Vassar. Clearly, both schools are remarkable places. Those students who are lucky enough to be accepted to both are wise to visit and see what feels right.

For my son, it was Vassar, hands down, with no regrets. There's not a day that he doesn't walk on the Vassar campus, marveling at its beauty. For whatever reason, the Wesleyan campus did not appeal to him.

His professors have been responsive and wonderful. The students are hard working but have a good time. That being said, I'm sure he would have been equally happy at Wes.

That's the funny and wonderful thing about liberal arts schools. Sometimes they just click and feel like home. Wesleyan definitely did that for me - I'm glad your son had that at Vassar! It's a good feeling :)

Both are wonderful schools with happy students and fabulous academics.

Vassar: prettier, more enclosed, better access to NYC

Wes: better town, access to NYC & Boston, bigger student body

Truly, a can't-lose decision!
