I’m a current high school senior that has verbally committed to play a sport for Wesleyan in 2019!! I also have two other friends of mine that are also attending Wes through athletics. We all want to be in a triple room (A/C preferred). When I took my visit I was in a double at Clark and it was really nice, but I’ve heard that the triples at Clark aren’t really that different from the doubles there (in terms of spae). Which hall is the most spacious for a triple, and what are the differences from all the other ones? And are all the triple rooms one bunk bed and a single bed, or do you have the option of three single beds on the floor or raised? I did my own research but the Wes website is limited in details of how big the rooms are. Any info is greatly appreciated! Thank you!!
Wesleyan over-accepted again this year which is actually good news in that it means it is increasingly popular. The bad news is that it will result in more triples for first-years. The best triples in terms of space are found in the Butterfield residence halls and are sometimes referred to as “Copenhagens” (not sure where the terminology came from) and are carved out of what were once lounge areas on the corners of each floor. I doubt very much you will find a triple that doesn’t utilize a bunk bed in the configuration.
Do you know if there is AC in any part of the Butts?
There is AC in the renovated ground floor sections of the Butts. Most of the triples in the Butts don’t have AC. Having lived in a Butts triple myself in a prior decade, it’s not a big deal to go without AC. Just a few weeks in Sept and maybe one week at the end of the year. Nothing a fan can’t solve!
My daughter has a triple in the Butterfields. Initially she was bummed to be slightly farther from campus (Clark is more centrally located). But the rooms are quite spacious compared to the other dorms and they were recently renovated. They have AC on the ground level (which is where she is located). She really likes her dorm and dorm mates. Good luck!
Thank you! Just wondering, was her triple in the Butterfields 1 bunk bed and a single or 3 singles? Or 2 bunk beds? And do you know if the bunk bed on the bottom can be removed to put in a desk or small couch underneath as a little hanging spot? I’m so excited, we’ve already been planning some dorm layouts and ideas
Hi there, Sorry I am just seeing this again. My daughter and her two roommates do not have bunk beds, They each have single beds. Good luck to you! My daughter plays a sport for Wes as well!
