Wesleyan University Or Claremont McKenna Or Vanderbilt/UVA for IBanking

Hey guys,

What is your opinions about Wesleyan University (Reputation, career placement etc.)?

I plan to double major in math and econ and pursue a finance career, see investment banking, after undergraduate in NYC.

Which school your think will be the best fit?
(For discussion, let alone tuition and financial aid)

Thanks!!!

All are fine schools, but Wesleyan"s student body skews left compared to the other two. The education will be first-rate, but you will not find many Republicans.

All three have great reputations in finance and have the alumni networks, etc. to get you the finance career you desire, but the schools are very different in vibe/location/student body, so you have to ask yourself about your preferences in that regard…

You should visit each and talk to current students, talk to their career planning offices about placement records, and judge the “feel” of each - where will you be happiest? That’s key.

Yea I thinks so too. Seems like finance and consulting are not mainstream career options for Wesleyan students.

^Wesleyan is a self-contained liberal arts college with a diverse range of career interests. Claremont McKenna could not exist on its own without Pomona and the much more liberal Pitzer providing faculty in the humanities and sciences; 50% of its graduating degrees are in business, accounting or economics.

Finance/consulting are indeed “mainstream” career options for Wes students.

Not true. Each Claremont college is a fully self-standing LAC, with a special emphasis in each excerpt Pomona. If you’re an English or psych major at CMC, you need not take any course on another campus, but you may if you like. The most popular majors are political science, economIcs, and psychology.
