West Campus Housing

Hi everyone!

I am a rising sophomore at Cornell and am thinking of living on campus next year. I looked at the housing website but am still curious about housing. How are the houses in West Campus? Which houses are generally on the quieter side? Which houses contain the most singles? Which house has the best food? Any thoughts, suggestions, and opinions are greatly appreciated! Thanks! :)

You have your own preferences, but I can tell you that the food varies with each house. I typically find that Keeton consistently has good food with Rose close behind. I also find Becker’s food to be typically unappealing, but that’s just me.

I don’t live on West, but from what I understand, it’s generally fairly quiet in the residential parts.

all of the houses are pretty quiet if your hallmates are quiet
generally, people like cook, becker, keeton for food
as long as you don’t end up in the gothics, all the dorm rooms are pretty new. but bethe is the newest building

cook and becker for me.
they even get a room where the dining halls put the extra food and its free to take

Rose is actually the newest house on West campus. when I was a freshman it wasn’t even in the west housing system yet, it was called House 5.
also, I’m pretty sure the pantries (with the extra dining hall food) are in every house. I know there is one in Rose for sure.

if having a single is really important to you you should consider the gothics. they’re part of the west campus houses despite being separate buildings. they might not be as modern, and I have to admit the main house bathrooms are much nicer, but many of them have quite a few single rooms.

wait, there are no singles in any of the houses except the gothics?

I believe there are singles in all the new houses. Some are singles in suites, some are singles on the hallway.

Thanks everyone!
