West Campus Housing?

Exactly what is West Campus Housing?

It said if transfers want to live there, they can request it when they apply. Is it good/bad? Why do transfers get to request it?

Sorry for all the questions!

32 views..no help.

Heh..

because otherwise ud live in hasbrouck which is in the middle of no where…West campus is where most upperclassman live. Transfers can try to request it..but its up to luck whether you acutally get it. GL

as a transfer I assume you get the choice between west campus and hasbrouck. hasbrouck is all transfers as far as i know and is way up north (very far from classes)…i’d say to request west. if you’re on west, you’ll be more in the middle of things and you won’t feel so much like you’re labeled as a transfer. you’ll just blend right in. plus, west has the “house system” and the community thing so it’s more cohesive.

Thank you!
So is hard to get?

I will apply for housing as soon as I get my letter and pay the deposit. I would think if I’m going against other transfers, I’d be one of the first because very few have been admitted so far, a lot are still waiting on decisions…right?

Idk about that. Ppl living on west generally block together freshman/sophomore year. So you may be walking into a group of friends. If you make friends easily, go on west…north may provide u with more ppl with similar experiences

Bleh…ok well now I’m confused..

I’d rather be with other transfers, but people are saying North is far away and blah blah..I have no idea which to do.

Definitely pick west. They block transfers together on West Campus, so you will be with other transfers on your floor.

I’m picking west if I can

Starting next year, Fall of 2008, the only choice you have is West, Hasbrouck will no longer be open to undergrads.

^^Correct.

Beds have been reserved for transfer students in the west campus system…

hmmm that probably helps explain why so many sophs were forced to live in LLC/Uj even with the new west campus dorms opening

^^most likely

sophs are forced to live in LLC and Uj? without applying to the program houses?

if they get a bad lottery time and theres no room anywhere else…so they arent technically forced, but if they want on-campus housing they are. a good portion of the program houses (with the exception of Risley) are made up of people who got stuck there bc they got a bad lottery time.
