West Chester University

How stringent are the requirements for West Chester University in PA for an "average" student? My daughter is very interested in this university and I don't want to build her hopes up if it's a "reach" school for students with low SAT's, average GPA and lots of extracurricular activities including Peer Leadership.

Info you are looking for starts around page 10…

I visited this school recently. It is a very nice campus with an urban feel to it. The town around the school is very upscale. I think they are looking for a 3.2+ with at least 1100 on SAT’s. However, don’t forget that this is a PA state school, and due to the economy will be receiving more applications next year also. The one thing that my son didn’t like about the school was that the gym was very, very small in the basement of the Union. We also looked at Kutztown in PA. I’m fairly sure you’ll get in with a 3.0. PM me if you want more info.

Thanks for the information on West Chester. We are planning on visiting it in June. It’s high on our list as some of my daughter’s senior friends have told her good things about the school. We’re looking for something close to home, not real big, etc. but with good programs. She is an A/B student with low SAT’s so this information is helpful. I also hear that it’s a lovely campus architecturaly speaking but is it safe as well?
